  Crossbars and Fuel Efficiency

Hi folks.

My new (less than a week old!) EX35 Journey came with crossbars. Since the chances of my actually affixing something to the roof bars is slim to none, I was thinking about removing them. They are bound to put more drag on the car. Does any one know whether removing them would have much of an effect on fuel efficiency? (Or looks for that matter.)

Well many of us don't have the crossbars and they look fine without them. I can't image the drag on them is significant, maybe adds a little bit of wind noise.

They should be very easy to remove since they are designed to be purchased and added at anytime.

I removed my crossbars on my EX as soon as I got it because I knew I would never use them and like the looks better without them. Very easy to take off.

I bought plastic hole plugs ant the hardware store, painted them silver and plugged the holes.

if you care about fuel efficiency, you should buy the golf ball add on sheet for your roof where no one will pay much attention to and probably wont after the esthetic of your car. it should decrease drag on your car.

the difference if any will be so minute that it won't even be worth your time. if you're doing it for other reasons, well then that's that.

Just be careful if you hook or slice.
You want to keep it on the road.

if you can get your ex35 to spin then it will become a factor. otherwise, i will go with back spin to get the most air time.
