My 95 maxima will sometimes die when the enging is warm. When the car is started it idles fine but will sometimes try to die when put in gear,if im quick i can put the car in neutral and keep it running. usually after a couple of start atempts it will drive okay. No check enging light. I changed the fuel filter, the pcv valve and cleaned the air filter. The problem is still with me. Any sugestions?? When the engine is cold it drives fine.....plenty of power.

wouldnt the maf. throw a code?Iguess i could unplug it and see if it limps without stalling.also the car makes a rombling soung during hard acceleration,Ithink they are related.when i checked the fuel pump pressure it was low at idle 30 psi and low with key on eng off 35psi i changed the pump but still have the same problems.

Codes P0507, P1122, P1121 04 Maxima, 5 speeds, 100K miles, receiving codes P0507, P1122, P1121 MY mechanic has been unable to find out what the problem is, p1122 & p1121 are no longer there. P0507 trouble shoot & recommendation have no corrected the problem.Symptoms: Engine service light is on, engine suddenly almost stalls when accelerating and to get to 40 mph you have to almost push down the entire gas pedal for it to run. When the engine is turned on cold, the engine hesitates for 2-4 seconds and then it goes to idle. Turn it off, and crank it back up, will barely start After the engine has warmed up the rpm rev sky high, then car decelerates, Like it is not getting any gas.1st-5th gears will not make the car move, twice while pressing on the gas pedal the car accelerates very real quick, moments later it will decelerate and engine stalls out, the idle is really really rough, erroneous idle, idle is sputtering. It is like the timing is off, bad gas type of sputtering, Have ruled out bad gas, the clutch & battery both have been replaced, throttle cleaned, the problem is still occurring. Throttle has been cleaned; there are no know vacuum or valve leaks found. This problem came all of a sudden while driving on the freeway, went into a coast mode, press the gas petal & no acceleration, change gears no acceleration.

DTC P0507 is ISC (Idle Speed Control) problem. It could be due problem with air intake leak, PCV system throttle actuator or even the ECM. DTC P1121 & 1122 refers to Throttle Control Problem (harness, electric actuator or position sensor. Since you said there is no vacuum leak, then the problem is pointing towards a defective throttle control - actuator/sensor (throttle body assembly).

I've had a similar problem DTC P0507 in my 03 Q45 (but no DTC P1121/1122). I verified no intake leak and operational PCV system. I had no drivability issue - only unable to get the required NO LOAD Idle Speed of 650+/-50 RPM. I did Accel Pedal Released Learning; TV Closed Position Learning; and IAVL (Idle Air Volume Learning) but cannot get the required Idle speed (lowest was 750RPM). The TB was replaced under warranty and the ECM was re-programmed and everything's back to normal since Aug09.

Before you replace the Throttle Body, check the Alternator output. I don't know why you replaced the battery but your alternator maybe weak. With engine running, the battery voltage must be 14.1-14.7 VDC, indicating good charging voltage. If the voltage is less than 13.8VDC, you have a failing alternator. Weird things do happen when the alternator is going bad.

If the alternator is Ok, make sure the air filter is in good condition and then clean the MAF sensor and connector with zero-residue contact cleaner (or CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner). DO NO TOUCH THE MAF SENSING ELEMENT. Apply dielectric grease on the MAF connector.

If all of the above actions did not fix the problem, then you have to replace the Throttle Body. Here's a link to the 04 Maxima FSM if you want additional information on how to diagnose your problem.

Good luck!
