I've searched and found this topic in the sr and ca section but not the rb so here it is, GT3071R vs. GT3076R which is the best of the two and why. I would like everyone that has or ever had one on their 25. Im only looking for 400 to 450hp and im going to run it on the stock mani

bump, in for this as well.

I am already leaning on the 3076 R though, would just like some feedback on it and AR suggestions...

3071 will spool faster but will max out power wise at 450whp or so

3076R can get you over 500whp and there will be a bit more lag..

i personally wouldnt go with anything smaller than a .82ar .63 would spool faster but will likely not breath as well up top, dont get me wrong a .63 will still make power up top but it wont have as nice of a powerband as a .82... the spool differences would probably only be a couple hundred RPM if that...

76R get my vote but i want 500whp

Google how to read a compressor map, then plot it out. You'll then know what and why you will pick one or the other.

Yeah I have the 3071r on my built RB25 .... on 17psi it made 415whp but there is no lag time what so ever... ok like 3 seconds of lag on a hiway pull. But I could have made of more power but the tuner didnt mess with timing. and my maf crapped out at 18 psi. my buddy has a 3076r and he makes 600whp on a built sr and it spools very fast

wow, those are good numbers for the 3071 on the rb25. What type of Dyno?

I am currently looking into this as well. I have done the math and plotted both, and the 3076, on paper, looks close to perfect. goes straight up through the left side of the efficiency island, and then peaks on the right side clear of the choke line. the 3582 creeps up the surge line, but peak is right thru the efficiency island. the 3071, for making the power I wanted, went up the right side of the island and peaked way right of the choke line. I was looking for 400whp, which would be approx 470-500 engine.

Does this sound correct?

also there is another forum from the land of kangaroos which has a great thread specifically for rb25det's with upgraded turbos. turbo, specs, and dyno sheets. good info.

Umm, unless your buddy is spraying nitrous, I call shenanigans.

haha me too. Ive seen almost 600whp done by Martin at Z Fever. It was a Twin Scroll 30R and was pushing almost 34psi or more on Q16 i think. Didnt hit 600whp though. Something like 58xwhp. That was an SR20. Ill see if i can find it on Fresh Alloy.

sho...3076R

It was 573whp @ 31psi. They turned boost up to 35-36psi and saw more tq at peak boost but no more peak hp than before.

Linky no worky. What kind of dyno did the 573rwhp? That's a lot more than I thought also.

I am also looking at the 3076 on a stock mani. I am very interested to know how that works for you, if you do get it. Hope all goes well. Keep us updated.

Yes it is. Googled it, thought it was different. My Neo is turbo though.

To get back to topic I think you should go with the 3076 also. I am curious to see if anybody has any idea if a 3076 makes more power on an tubular mani vs a stock one? How much more? Just wondering how many ponnies you gain from spending 1.5k - 2.5k on a tubular mani?
