If your not getting the fuel pump or any of the other ignition systems coming on, then yeah it is a problem with the ignition connection. Is the stereo turning on briefly at the start of the sequence? I'd double check the connections on the ribbon cable at the brain and the sattelite relays, as well as the fuses on the red wires. It's been a while since I have done this, but did you hook up the long gray wire to your hood, and is the hood open by chance?

no my stereo doesnt come on. i had this same system in my 98 240 and it never kicked the stereo on either, but that one worked. i dont have the hood wire hooked up cause my hood is all dented to s***. ill hook it up when i get my new hood. on think that i am thinking might be wrong.. on the satellite there is 2 red wires (constant +) and one red/white wire (additional constant +). now from how i understand it from reading the manual i only have to hook up one of the reds and dont have to hook up the other. thats what i did anyways. i also have verified that the neutral safety switch is hooked up correctly and working properly (no starting in gear for me ). well thanks for your help and let me know if you can think of anything else

I'd check that other wire and hook it up. Double check the fuses on those fuses, as you can pull enough to pop one of them when starting. I'm also assuming that you have bypassed the clutch switch?

ok so i hooked up that other constant power on the satellite and it no turns on the fuel pump and starts the car, but then it dies after running for a second. its not recognizing that its running. i moved the rpm wire to the yellow/red wire in the ecu harness and i cant get it to "learn the tach signal" any ideas?oh and yes i bypassed the clutch switch

If you can't get it to learn tach, just switch it over to voltage and you should be all set. Only down side is that you have to pay a little more attention to the cranking time.

If it doesn't learn tach than either you are not learning it correctly or you may just need to go to an injector wire. Injector wires will always work..... where as I have had a tach or two that didn't. Just go to an injector wire that is not common among all injectors. Or set it to voltage as Converted said. However, it may not remote start in really cold weather if it's set on voltage. That's the great thing about the new Viper systems...... you never have to tap a tach signal again! Give me a call if you are having anymore issues. It's a lot easier to give tech help over the old telephone

alright so i messed around with it today a little bit. i was reading the manual and on the alarm there is jumpers. one for the lights and one for the tach. it said to jump it if you have a low voltage tach signal. well i figured it couldnt hurt, so i jumped the other spot. tried remote starting it, nothing, didnt try to learn the tach after that. i was showing a friend what it does and it started up just fine and didnt have a problem ran great till i shut it off.. since then i havent had a problem with it. i just went out to it and tried learning the tach signal and it leaned it quickly. everything is working perfect. im stoked. thanks for all your help converted and broadfield!!!!!!!!!!!

i've had 2 or 3 cars that i've worked on that you still needed tach in order for the car to keep running. If i remember right the first one was a 99 ram. Would die out instantly. Then from there i hooked up tach, programmed it and was good to go. Had af ew others but can't quite remember what ones. Since then i still hook it up on all of them.
