LT1 Swap in a 240 Vert... any help please?

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Hey everyone, I'm on a budget for tuning up my vert I got and I was just curious on everyone's opinions and need help if it goes to an LT1 swap. I'm considering swapping out an LT1 in the vert, but I'm not too sure on what parts I'd need and how easy/hard it is to do it... any help would be appreciated. Thanx to all!

Look up McKinny motorsports, they offer a small block chevy - LT1 swap kit.

it's actually pretty "cheap"

LT1s can still make good power, I just wouldn't want one in my car. You can get into an iron block LSx series for not much more and have not only a better looking setup, but a great aftermarket and more recent generation of engine. It's worth it in the end.

There are other things to consider here. First of all, the iron block LSx motors are truck engines. This means that swapping them into a car is illegal here in California (and possibly other states as well). There are no such problems with the LT motors. Also, LT motors have the advantage of simple, OBDI electronics. And as for the aftermarket, I don't think it could be called bad for ANY of the GM V8s.

I would call OBDI a disadvantage (along with optisparkjunk and the fact that LTs look awful), but that's me.
