I know this was covered in another post but I couldn't find it. The issue is that the weather striping was removing the paint from the bottom of all 4 doors (where the bottom door weather striping meets the bottom part of the car body). As I live in MN I was annoyed that this would be happing because of salt and possible rust. I brought it into the dealer and told them my concern. They ordered new weather striping for all 4 doors and had the bottom of each door (not the actual door but the car body) painted to match. I am still curious to see if this fixes the problem but it was nice to see that they were willing to fix the issue. I asked what happens if this continues to happen and the only response I got was to bring it back in to have them look at it. So either Nissan hasn't fixed the problem but would just rather fix the issue or they have a different weather striping for the bottom of the door.

I think you are looking for this thread:

I have never gotten a response back from Nissan Canada regarding this issue. The dealer was offering to do a service similar to yours, however I felt it did not solve the underlying issue. I have done what others have on this forum:

Apply a 1" wide strip of clear paint protection film (clear bra), to the lower door sill where the wear occurs.

BTW, I have added the above thread to the FAQ as it had gotten lost.

Since we are updating status.

Has anyone 're'-done their strips? I did mine about 1.5 yrs ago and they are starting to collect some dirt (a little) even underneath the tape.

I'm going to have to do the strip on the drivers side door here soon, it's starting to wear through. The other three door strips are holding up well though...I've hardly noticed any wear on the rear doors, it's mostly just the drivers side.

I certainly wouldn't wait too long

For those of you who aren't aware of this problem I would strongly suggest you read through the thread Philipa pointed out:

Links are now fixed, thanks Qashqai for catching that!

This thread gives all the info you'll need to purchase the protective strips:
