Leaky t-top

Okay guys, I know this is a common problem, but I need some help. My drivers' side t-top leaks really bad on my 90' na. I heard somewhere to try the sil-glyde product from napa. I assume I should remove the stripping first, clean it and apply the product. Is that correct? If not please list suggestions and please be specific because you're talking to a partial moron. Also, if i do need to remove the stripping, is it difficult and what is the procedure? Please help!!

I have a 90 na as well my t tops dont leak at all i think the previous owner replaced the rubber on them because it looks brand new and those trim pieces of leather on the top top fell off on one side and the other side is all s***ty from what i think is water damage. Probably need to replace the rubber and itll be like new. see if its dry rotted/has holes in it. Also it could be the trim piece along the windshield check that too. Hope this helps =]

The only *correct* way to do it is to buy the OEM weatherstripping. My drivers side T-Tops leak where the weatherstripping that goes around the door meets the stripping on the t-top. I temporarily stopped the leak by putting vasolene on the weatherstripping. it helps it to swell, and seal the windows, but the repare IS temporary.. if I want to keep the water out I have to put more on every time it rains.

also, I got some glue to help seal some of the stripping that goes around the t-top.. and make sure that the drain hole for your t-tops isn't plugged. if it is it causes massave amounts of leakage.

I know there was a very good forum post about this exact same issue. I found it when I was searching, but can't seem to locate it now.

Mine leaked on both sides so I used sil-glyde from napa and it stoped leaking. Ive tried vasaline but it liqiufies on a hot day. If it still leaks after then you have to replace them, and they are pricey

Mine wasnt dirty so I just rubbed it on. If its super dirty you can just wipe it clean then apply

is there a genaric name for it...we dont have a napa where i live...mine leaks too
