Insurance Question!

Insurance is a real pain when it comes to these older cars especially the 240sx. The car I'm trying to get is a 97 240sx s14. According to the Cali Blue book its only worth 3000$ but with all the mods and stuff it comes close to 9000$. 250$ a month with collision damage. So pretty much if you get into an accident your pretty much f***ed. What are your guys input on insurance and is it usually this high for older cars?

Most of the guys on NICO probably don't carry coverage for the full value of their car + mods.

I've seen it happen time and time again. Someone's car is in a crash, it gets totaled, they take the insurance settlement based on keeping the car and try to find another shell to swap all their stuff over.

You can always look for a company that will write your coverage on an Agreed Value basis - meaning you insure the car for the value that you specify (however, they will require documentation to prove your car is worth that amount).
