Ok so first of i gotta introduce myself. newguy here from salt lake city utah and i'm quite possibly making the purchase of a 91' Z32 tomorrow. It's got the 3.0L V6 MFI with the double overhead camshafts. But it isnt the twin turbo. Can you upgrade this to a turbo? One other question. When you talk about N/A you're talking about the non turbo....right? Please correct me if i'm wrong. Thanks for the help.

You can't safely upgrade a non-turbo Z32 to turbo. If you want the turbo version, I'd suggest to keep looking. A swap can be done but it's fairly in depth amount of work and money.

ok thats what i thought. would it be an engine swap? or what would the process be in getting it to a turbo? i've got a super inexpensive excellent condition non turbo but i'd really like the turbo. would it be cheaper to buy an inexpensive non turbo or cough up the extra dough up front and get the twin turbos right off the bat?

there is an orange sticky thread at the top of the first forum page thattells what is involved in a na/tt swap, "NA" refers to naturaly asperated by the way.

most folks on here will say that if you must convert, to buy a front cut which is basicaly the front half of the car with motor trans piping inter-coolers ecu wiring and all the stuff you will need.

These cars are hard to work on because there is no room under the hoodtook me 5 hours to replace the alternator on my na last week, my ford ranger was a 45 minute job. just for comparrison sake.

my opinion and several others here will say to hold out and buy the tt upfront. it will always be worth more and easier to sell should you wish to.
