Great write up.

I was hoping someone was going to install Megan springs on their Cube from the Versa.

Turned out great!

Will get better pics later. Gonna switch out the lugs for black and swap center caps, get rid of the goofy logo and space the wheels out 8mm.

Handling is ridiculously improved - Pilot Sport tires (225/45/17) make a HUGE difference. I'm impressed, and I have some good-handling cars to compare to.

They're stickers.

I'll powdercoat the caps and replace the center logo with a Nissan logo.

The car looks great!

Do you happen to have the wheel specs? Size, offset, and speaking of which...what is the bolt pattern on the Cube??

These are 17x7, +42 if I recall correctly.

Bolt pattern on all Nissans is 4x114.3 (or 5x114.3 for 5-lugs).

your cube is tight, mang. i was wondering about the rep from Megan Racing. I've read about all the horror stories. but c'mon. can coils really fail that catastrophically? anyways...your car looks tight. keep us posted of your great progress!

PS...dumb question from me, but how do spacers work? and are they safe for street use?

I don't listen to all that nonsense.

A lot of the stuff that's branded "Megan" is stuff that won't really "fail" anyway... I have a Megan racing downpipe.

Also, a lot of the stuff that people THINK is "big name brand" is the same stuff, powdercoated a different color and sold under a different name. Go to the SEMA show someday, you'll LOL at how FEW manufacturers there REALLY are.

I don't say anything - It's not pretty when some idiot who paid $450 for a set of springs finds out they came out of the same factory as the set you just paid $120 for.

Spacers - Good quality ones are OK for street use. I prefer bolt-on spacers for safety.

looks good...I prefer the low and wide look..I am already ahead of the game and got some 15x8 +0 wheels that will be installed this week with a 5mm spacer up front to clear the caliper.. Then I plan to lower the ride with either these springs or coilovers..

AZhitman, this seems like a pretty straightforward conversion for me to do (done this on other cars), but i have a couple questions,
has it had any effect on the caster or camber, any wandering feel at speed (i mean any more than this model has already, lol) and is a rear wheel alignment necessary, or even applicable?
BTW thanks for the ton of useful info so far!

Yes. You WILL need an alignment ANY TIME you lower a car.

Glad to help!

Oh, and another question...do you plan on throwing those spacers on soon? It'd be nice to see the clearance between the tire and fender when it's pushed out that extra 8mm...
