I just started getting into Photography again. And at the HIN drift Demo in Charlotte, my buddies Eddie and Ben were sliding around representing our crew, Drift Menace. I was just messing around and got a quick couple shots of his car and messed around doing HDR stuff. Thought some of you that change backgrounds as much as I do might like to try this one out for a day. Comments are welcome guys.

This is the biggest resolution I have on the internets. lol

But it isn't photoshopped. It's called an HDR photograph. This is what they look like. The highs and lows, shadows and highlights are all in the picture. It's like the most intense visual experience from a photograph (other than p0rn, if your into that.) lol.

It's hard for it to not look like this, especially at sunset.

You could have used less post-processing.

I like it, but the contrast is just a little too much, looks forced as do many HDR images.

Not a huge fan of HDR, but aside from that, it's a really nice shot. Do you have the normal exposure for that shot?

i was thurrrgreat pic man.

that dam fence kept me from getting any worth-a-dam shots of you guys sliding.

i've messed with HDR a couple times. but just not lately since i keep forgetting to shoot in RAW..tho you can do it with jpeg. quality's not as good.what do you use for hdr/tonemapping?

haha, i use Photomatix Pro.

But how do you shoot in RAW compared to a normal shot? Gezz man, I don't really know what I'm doing, I just know what I like and what not, and try to get things to look good.

But thanks for the complements guys. So why don't some of you like HDR? I'm not trying to be an a**, I just haven't really heard the opposing side of the argument before.

Oh, and by popular demand, one of the originals

I think they look a little fake or over processed. I'm sure that it can probably be toned down a little to look more natural.

As far as raw formatting goes it all depends on the camera if you can do it or not. What camera are you using?

well first off, the second pic can't look fake or overprocessed. lol. It's an unedited original.

I'm using a FujiFilm Finepix F100fs DSLR. So far it's great. I love it.

I just meant HDRs in general. I prefer edits more like the one below (I can take it down if you mind). It pops out to the eye, but still looks like something that you could have actually taken. That camera does support raw, and the option is probably in the same menu as the resolution settings.

Wow! sweet man, thanks for the pointers! I'm always game for learning new stuff. I'm going to be getting photoshop CS2 sometime soon I hope, so I'll actually be able to edit stuff instead of JUST doing HDR.

I really appreciate the help man.

In the mean time, check out gimp. It's free and has most of the functionality of Photoshop.

i start with a RAW format picture form the camera.most cameras give you the option to choose the format you want to shoot in.

then i go in to photoshop and separate the separate exposures and what not then go into photomatrix.

or finish it off in photoshop.

that's how i do it

and yeahlets see what you got!

some of my HDR.nothing crazy

I was bored because the weather has been crap and I haven't really gotten much chance to get out and shoot, so I did a re edit that is more my style and less in your face.

I love the pic! I went to HIN here in Tampa this year, best $25 I ever spent... Some really good drifters out here, and definately some good vendors.
