Just lowered my Y34 M45 with Tein springs on 20's

I finally got around to ordering a set of Tein springs for my M45. It always looked a bit to tall with 20's, but this solved that. After reading comments on the board about these springs what I did was to install the front springs first and then about 10 days later and 1,000 miles later install the rears so that my car would never be lower in the rear than in the front. The front did take a bit to settle down whereas the rears lowered the vehicle immediately. I've had both the front and rears on for about a week now and the ride is very much like stock and the vehicle is only slightly lower in the front than in the rear. It did lower the vehicle all around by about an inch. These pics were taken with a full tank of gas as well so the rear is sitting about as low as it's going to go. I love the look of it but I'd be happy to hear any comments about what you think.

car looks good man! you need to take your front license plate off though. i think it would make the car look a little better. and besides that, it's a good drop!

Unfortunately, in Texas, the cops are real hard-asses about no front license plate, tint too dark, speeding.etc, etc. After 2 warnings about no front plate, I decided to bite the bullet and put it on.

Car looks great!I like the drop,,,,just perfect. Did you get your car re-align after the dropped? Not too low and you kept it simple.

I did get the vehicle re-aligned and it has no pull whatsoever. Since it was a pretty mild drop, the camber did not have to be adjusted. I wanted to keep it as a daily driver so I didn't want to slam it.

Looks great man.

I found out my front wheels are both slightly bent. The dealer told me when I went to get the wheels balanced. I have an excuse to get new wheels and I will definitly go with the Tein drop when I do.

I am currently looking for a good set of lowering springs for my 2003 M45 and looking at your pictures, yours looks real good with the Tein springs.I`ve been very skeptical about Teins since what I`ve read about them so far on this forum...i have a couple of questions tho, is there a lot of body roll when you take conners and also, does it rub at all on any of the tires?

I've had the springs on for a while now and I have no complaints about them. I actually think that there is less body roll now with the Tein springs and my rear has never rubbed even when I've had 2 full size adults and one child in the rear seats. The only thing I'll need to do soon is to change out the struts in the front because the ones on there are the original ones and the rebound rate has diminished. If you do get them, I'd have the front professionally installed because it's a PITA and the rears you can do yourself so long as you have a long crowbar for leverage to push down on the control arms. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the quick response austexm45, you`ve helped me make up my mind about the Teins at last. I plan on having the springs swapped by my mechanic. One more question tho, how many inches does it drop the car, front and rear?

as far as i know teins are too soft ,they were designed for lighter engine/v6 Gloria/Cedric in japan. espelir makes good ones. a couple of members got them, no complains. more drop.

The front dropped about .75 inches and the rear dropped about .9 inches. My car is perfectly level. I don't know if I'd like it dropped any more than it is because I think that it would rub in the rear.

Hi saeedakobiakov,

What is the part number for the Espelir, how reliable are they and how much of a drop can you get with them?

Hi guys,I just replaced my springs with Teins today (my shipment finally got in yesterday) ... no repair shop was open and it took me 6hrs to do it with limited tools but I got it done.Previous owner got it lowered by cutting the OEM springs , dumbest thing ever cos the ride was horrible like that of a go-cart but it looked cute tho.Just came back from a test drive and it rode exactly like an Infiniti (currently own a Q45)...the spring is my little Christmas present since it took me months to find one.Anyways, Merry Christmas guys and i`ll be putting up pictures later.
