..........................F/R.............F/R..............SPRING......RATE........DROP
M35 05 - 07......6.4 / 8.7.........1.5 / 1.0 M45 05 - 07.......6.5 / 8.8.........9 / 1.1
I suggest calling Eibach and asking what are the spring rates for the M35 and M45 seeing as tho the drop is the same for both.
Talked to Eibach and Tein again today.. got more information that's leading me to go ahead with the Tein's for my M45.
Eibach basically said the springs for the M35 and M45 are the exact same. The kit number is the same and from what tech support told me, there is very little weight difference in the two cars. He said the weight difference is not enough to make any noticeable difference. The spring rate for the Eibach 6376.140 pro kit is progressive and goes from 228 lb/in. to 331 lb/in. in the front and 399 lb/in. to 513 lb/in. in the back.
Tein doesn't have a specific part number for the M45 and wouldn't say to me that it's "ok" to use the M35 springs on the M45. That info i only got from Eibach. The spring rate for the M35 Tein High Tech (HT) kit is from what their tech support told me a "progressive type" spring that goes from softer to harder as the spring compresses but has a "linear" rate to it.... Basically, I don't think he wanted to commit to saying they were linear or progressive.. so he said they were both.. kinda. The rate for their springs are 399 lb/in. front and 510 lb/in. rear. Very close to the M35/45 kit from Eibach but with a more moderate (hopefully less camber issues) drop.
Therefore, since i prefer a more moderate drop in heigth, I'm going with the Tein M35 springs on my M45. Unless someone has information leading me not to, i'll be ordering them in a few days.
Any thoughts?
