So i am going to do a non turbo to a turbo swap on my 86 300zx and i was wondering where the best place to order possibly the whole engine and hopefully the turbos and maybe even the tranny any help is appreciated
There are some sites that have this covered...but you need to find a turbo donor car as there are other parts you need besides the engine. There are some parts under the car that need to be changed out....look for a donor turbo car, the engine you can find re-man'ed or used around. There used to be lots of places that had the VG30 engines, fewer with Turbos.
I cannot vouch for them but I know a few people that got used quality engines from them. Start to search the junk yards for the donor car to strip the parts you need.

please search, this has been covered in detail, honstly as cheap as these are these days you're better off selling your n/a in favor of a turbo model, if you must do the conversion try finding a complete parts car, you'll need the front crossmember in addition to the normal bits, like I said search, it's been covered in detail, I did the conversion myself on a $200 car with a $450 donor car

I would have to agree with Evil on this one. You need several major parts under the car where the turbo plumbing go, a new ECU and several other major pieces. Unless your a gifted mechanic with lots of time on your hands I'd dump the NA, pick up a used turbo and start from there. It will just not be worth all the time and work in 2009 to do that much work on a car that old.
As he said do a search, there is also a guys website which I cannot recall right now that has a step by step on how to do this. I looked at it real carefully about 10 years ago and decided than on my Z31 which is in very good condition for a car that I was the first and only owner. Just not worth the amount of expense and challenges to do it.
