Like the topic says, looking at maybe getting a 93 nx 2000. The sweet thing is they may take my buick as a trade for it. The owner wants a bigger car and the nissan has a few small issues.

Been a while since i had to diag issues on a car with a distributor. Has a misfire under load, much more noticeable in higher gears/lower rpm. My first thoughts are related to the plug/cap/rotor... im gonna take a look at it this weekend and make sure.

Just makin sure there shouldnt be something specific to be lookin for with the SR20 suffering from a misfire.

sounds like a good place to start, plugs wires cap and rotor.

but it could be a fuel injector crapping out. If it was missing at idle you could unplug one injector at time to see which one is causing it.

You may want to check the Ignition Timing. If it is advanced then it needs high octane or will lean misfire. Base should be 15 degrees. When I first bought my b13 SER it was advanced to 18. Luckily I put 93 octane in it when i bought it .

no luck getting ahold of the car yet. the girl who owns it isnt very reliable.also she called my buick a bigger piece of crap.... which is wrong since my buick has NO problems other then needing shox (bounces like a jello mold) and ugly paint job. no mechanical problems... i am a mechanic after all, i make sure my cars run well.

she drives it almost every day the way it is too... cant be bothered to fix the friggin misfire. lazy/poor/stuck up/dont care about cars.... i wanna save the car
