So you took out a welded diff for a VLSD for a track car? I would only ever run a VLSD for a street car. As soon as it touches a track its clutch type or welded time. VLSD + track = over heat no locking action.
I have a kazz that has over 40K miles on it. I have only needed to change the fluid. Its Fin solid. No tire wear on the streets driving normal either.
But if your still running that welded diff and it whines, who ever welded it cooked the bearings. It took ALOT of heat to do all that welding so I'm not surprised.
