OEM key has an Infiniti logo on it. Contact your local dealer and get a price, then check with http://www.grubbsperformance.com and see what their price is.dx3 wrote:Guys,
I recently purchased a QX56 and it didn't come with the OEM keys. I believe the car was repo'd so they had some keys cut. Could someone please post a picture of theit OEM key so I can see what it looks like.
Also, sorry for the newb question, but who is the cheapest Infiniti dealer to order parts from?
Should I order the key online and bring it to my dealer to have them cut/program it or what? I am afraid my dealer will stick it to me if I buy from there...
Thanks,Jonny
Well, I called to see why I didn't get the Chrome Infiniti Logo key I requested. They told me that because I have remote start on the car, they were worried that key would mess up the transmitter installed on the car. Because the transmitter is hidden, they couldn't find it to replace it...Promise Land wrote:There are usually three keys sent with every new Infiniti QX56. Two will have the chrome Infiniti logo, and the third will not. It will either be just black or have the logo molded into the plastic (but will still be black). The blanks they order are usually the plain black, but they can get the chrome logo keys if you specify you want it (it's probably a few bucks more). Either will functionally work the same.
I appreciate the response man. However, the Stealer told me that specific key would mess with my remote start. Not sure whether I believe him or not, but it would be an expensive way to find out for sure. They said if it doesn't work they would have to find the receiver that is hidden in the car and it would be more trouble than it is worth... I am NOT impressed with my local Infiniti dealer...iNfinitiNBeYond wrote:Yo... Check out Ebay.. They got all types of stuff for the qX56.. Beware some stuff may not fit or what you dont want but check with seller and confirm before you order and you'll have the exact thing you are looking for. I got an extra set of OEM stock alarm for like $20.00 buckaraoos and the keys I have seen for 15 to 20 buckaraoos...That cheap dude.. but you have to cut them and program them if you have the transponder key. Which on 06 is standard. You can take it to a locksmith and get it cut and then take it to the dealer to program it. I think the dealer would charge like 50 and the dealers keys are a ripp off which you probably had experienced....I think they quoted me 180.00 for new key and programing thats a pair of Jordans Yo or hella Socks...check out this link....
