  Friend's S2000 Detail - Lots of pics

A full week long detail, done by myself, of a friend's S2000. Car is a weekend fun car that never sees the rain, however it still benefited from my detail that I did as a little project. Out of the 400+ pics I tried to find a good bit that really showed the full effect of the detail. Try and keep this as descriptive and organized as possible!

Process:
Full wash and Clay
Menzerna Intensive Polish
-Porter Cable, orange pad - 4 hours
Menzerna Final Polish
-Porter Cable, white pad - 2 hours
Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze
-hand applied -cured overnight
Optimum Opti-Seal
-hand applied -cured for 4 hours
Collinite's No. 845 Insulator wax
-hand applied -cured for 3 hours.
Rewashed

BEFORE PICTURES: Note swirling!

50/50 Shots!

LOL, before reading anything, I saw the first shot and thought WTF!? That's AFTER a 2 day polish and seal!? ...Then I started reading words.

Looks good and that's a lot of work. What product(s) did you use on the top?

you spent 6 hours buffing/polishing? That's a bit of overkill... A couple hours at most is sufficient even for the most swirled/scratched up car...and that one was not bad at all. Takes me an hour and a half for a car, 2 hours for an SUV to do a 3 stage polish (cut, swirl remover, polish)
Some time wasted...but good looking.

No overkill here, time wasted was time I had, if there is no need to rush the detail in anway then, exactly that, no need. I'll break it down a little:

At two passes per panel for each stage of the buffing, you're looking at easily a half hour per panel for the smaller ends. I pace the buffer along very slowly at 900-1000 rpms, making swirls impossible. The car could have been done in a day had I wanted to, but on an energy conserving process I made sure there were no defects left in this car at all. Thanks

Good stuff, mate! I'm planning to invest in a polisher. It'd cut down the time dramatically. I've been doing everything by hand and it's super tiring..

Thanks! Yes, buffer's making everything 100% easier/better. I suggest a porter cable 7424 if you won't be getting too aggressive with it. I have a rotary, the porter cable and a Cyclo
