I have been wanting to do this for a long time...so my buddy and I came up with a plan.

Here are the pics of the project.

Started with a stock L20 intake manifold and some aluminum plates and tons of weber parts.

Say goodbye to the single weber...muhahahahaha

Here is the install......

One carb on....

Now they are installed and ready for the first start up...

Ok...now for the video.

I have made some adjustments since this video so she does not bog anymore.

man.... i need to figure something like this out

i've been having major fuel delivery issues at auto x and i'm just not sure how to fix it... i was thinking side drafts but the price is just too out there... anything like what you did is kinda out there for now as well because i only have one car and anything i do to it needs to be done in a days time

looks great tho man!

This would be a workable project if you had an extra head laying around. This way you have a jig to work from and get the angles correct.

My 620 is my DD so I was nervious about it...but wammo she went in with no problems and fired right up. I am still working out the jetting, trying different profiles to see what works best. But I am not going through near as much fuel as I thought I would. I almost never have to push the throttle to get her going.

I used a donor stock intake and my buddy Brandon worked out the geometry, cut the runners, and welded the boxes together and milled out the runners. It was time consuming, but not impossible....I had it in and drove it home all in 4 hours. He took about three weeks to put everything together and make the linkages.

yeah i don't have anything laying around... nor a garage

there are two main issues i need to work out if you have any suggestions

1. the current carb is maxed... it starts out rich then goes lean as rpms go up... fixable with a new carb but like i said i'm poor and its a dd and i don't have anything spare laying around

2. i've gotten pretty good a auto x lately and with my new tires i have a lot of grip... under hard left hand cornering the fuel is cutting out. my best guess is that inside the carb the fuel is being forced away from the jets but the pump also seems like it just may not be giving enough pressure... the problem there is i'm afraid anything higher would be too much

I would consider a float adjustment for both of those symptoms.

What carb are you running?? Webers are good for about 270 cfm and need only 3-4 psi of fuel pressure.

Hahahaha.....I know about poor. lol

I got my weber on trade for a bicycle and the other is a loaner untill I can buy one. So...it is all about resources. The donor intake was given to me and the fab work was done at a school.....so no charge there, just supplies.

It can be done for little or nothing.....just look around and see what you have at your disposal.

yeah... sadly enough around here it would be around the same expense to do a ka swap... the work would just take way too long on a dd

Heyyy you're in Oregon City! Sweet...I'm up I-5 a little ways from your off of canyon and 26.

That is definitely a sweet solution you came up with. Run some blueprints, have a machine shop fab your idea up, and PROFIT!

Thanks for the approval guys...lol

I have had some say that this was a wasted effort but it has turned out to be an awesome one!

I can't wait to show it off at the Canby show in June. Maybe I will enter this year as a contender in the show.

I finally got the filters on.

I found the butter zone finally for the jetting profile!! So here it be.......

Idles: Primary=50 Secondary=50

Main Jets: Primary=140 Secondary=115

Air Correctors: Primary=180 Secondary=160

Emulsion tubes: Primary=F50 Secondary=F50

I played and played with this until I found a chart for smaller engines and this profile works very well on my L20b with a comp cam. I have no more drag at higher RPMs and no strong fuel smell when I open her all the way up....just Lots of power and a wicked sound.

OMG NO UV PROTECTION!

Seriously though I helped one of the teachers at school get his intro class set up with welders. With all the students in the class there weren't enough leathers so I gave mine to one of the guys who was going to be welding.

Just from standing around helping people out and running a couple beads to demonstrate I woke up the next day with sunburns on my arms and neck lol.

I want a tig welder at home (I know that picture's a mig... I don't want mig :P )

Is that a HF auto darkening mask? They actually aren't too bad, the adjustable darkness is cool.

The hood is an auto darkening hood. Those are cool!

Brandon (who was doing the welding) probably did end up with a light tan. lol

Thanks!! It was a team effort though. Brandon did the fab work and I supplied the truck.
