Hi, all.

I just finished reading a 68 page tutorial/book called "How to Select A Motor Oil or Filter for Your Car or Truck", by Jim Fitch of Noria Corporation (PDF downloads for $14.95 are at http://www.noria.com ... the printed book is $19.95 plus shipping, so the PDF is cheaper).

This is highly recommended! Along with Fred's (PalmerWMD) excellent posts on oil issues, I consider it required reading for anybody with a performance engine who wants the best for his/her car. The book does not go into specific oil brand recommendations, but does provide a good, reasonably in-depth, tutorial on the issues involved, and certainly helped me understand Fred's posts on the topic of engine oil!

I will not go into gory detail on the book ... although I will pick and choose some interesting tidbits for posting in the next few days to weeks. Like the Mercedes Benz requirement for an oil change after 100 miles of operation on a new engine!
