I want to check out this build, I too have a build thread and have been adding parts since 240 is my DD. I also have a problem with rust and am debating whether or not to repair it or just find a good shell and swap everything over to it. Good luck with all the work and I look forward to the build.

thanks im contemplating stich welding too (depends on how nice my friend is) where the doors end and the rear seat area begins, the dip i mean. also i might fab up some cross mounts for the trans tunnel or seat mounts in the front to the back seat area i will still run back seats, because i like a clean interior... but im toying with fabbing some braces to run under the seats... idk yet the guy whos helping me has access to a laser cutter for custom stuff so we will see

YAY!I told you i would have my eye out for it. I was going to comment on how clean your cockpit looked but you already mentioned it. I like the way you give a realistic goal for the year or season, Very smart. There is nothing wrong with a slow build that only means for the most part that it is being done right to your standards. Planning ahead is also good which i noticed you are doing by doing everything in stages, i know just by reading that, that i am going to enjoy watching this thread. I need to buy a wire brush thing so i can do that to my car, and play with some dry ice. Looks good so far man! One Love, Ghasty

the wire brushes i got at lowes for like 5 bucks a piece. im gonna go back and get a few more. You can probably use one for the whole interior, but i had ALOT of excess tar and goo that wouldve ment hours to get it all up. at the very least ill buy one more to do one last sweep after im done.wire brush is the best bang for the buck to clear paint and that tar stuff... ill use it under the car too when i spray it again and then truck bed line it. WC- no ill have a full interior, im not that baller honestly the rust isnt too bad, the rails are flawless all around its basically in the creases from 20 years of salted roads i probably wont be able to work on it till saturday so ill update sunday or monday

Alright update time:so i finished cleaning up the interior (mostly) ill go back over it again with the wire brush before i spray it. but i figure for now with dirty feet i just spread the dirt around; and im gonna be cutting and welding in patches anyways

and for WC this is the spot im talkin about... note my frusteration
i began removing all the wiring for the auto seatbelts since i will be putting in factory 180sx belts; which unfortunately are on back-order. I did buy the headliner already
heres where im confused on the wiring... i realize that some of the wires will continue to the dash, which im not pulling till i swap motors, but after examining the wiring for that attach to the control box for the belts, there are three black wires that run back through the car. not sure where they go; i already am up to the divide in wiring re wrapping everything, i guess ill have to backtrack. anyone know where these wires go? are they grounds? The FSM doesnt have the pin numbers and what each wire goes to that i can find.
my friend got back to me with some dates to start my patches. that work will get a start march 7th, so i desided to install my s15 helical differential awhile. got the car airborne today, and drained the fluid. Ill pickup later this week on pullin it apart
on a funny note this morning i took the last of my datsun to the scrap yard. Was going to borrow my uncles truck; but our schedules werent matching so i said **** it. I love having a beat *** car
500 lbs of suspension arms, shocks, both doors and some other random pieces. stay tuned

or find one from canada. one of my hatches is canadian, and they are just baller enough to do the gauge cluster in km, and they even used manual belts.

i couldve went that way, but id rather have the trim and stuff without the rails for the belts. sorta like you getting type x aero. id rather not cheap out on this one. im not into fancy exteriors, im more of an interior slut.

yea splintercell's is nice but im still set on it.and the cressida is more than win; its probably my best buy evar got the differential out today.. i sorta regret pulling it now since thats all im pulling; its gotta go back in before i drive it to my friends, shouldve just waited till after my bodywork when i dropped the subframe. its not fun to pull yourself. damn thing was a pain to get out, and when it did finally come down, it slipped and fell on my arm im gonna have a nice welt there tommorow

ya the black ones... they run back towards the rear of the car... the rest of the stuff goes under the dash, so ill probably just remove as much as i can and cap them off for now (im too lazy to pull the dash before im ready to swap ) i removed everything seat belt related but i still have those 3 black wires... are they related to the grounds? or are they for the antenna motor. without that stupid control box i dont hear the annoying sound of my broken antenna trying to move anymore
