Decided to make a new thread since the old name didn't exactly work for a build...should have thought about that before making the first one lol, well wtv.

So anywho, I didn't start working until mid-day today and I spent a lot of time cleaning/greasing my Zeals and a little dialing in the ride height and negative camber so I only got the rears on today. I'm pretty sure I need to roll my fenders so hopefully I can rent a roller soon(don't know of anyone here in Roswell who has one). I plan to put the front coils on Wednesday(when I am off work again) and hopefully start on the engine stuff then too.

Anyone have any good experiences/best prices with a particular fender roller renter? Also need recommendations for a car cover too that won't scratch and has a good fit.

Looks like a lowrider lol

OHHHhhh...ROFL. I totaly thought you were threatening my car at first lol. *sigh*, yeah I have heard of using a bat, maybe I could use my jack handle though, it' a couple inches in diameter.

Do you need to use a heat gun if you use a bat(only flattening the lip, no further)? Also, what is the best way to use a bat?jack up the car and wedge it in or what? Also seen newspaper use, I suppose that's to fill the gap.

But all you might need to do is just hammer the inner fender lips flat.maybe a newspaper pull at the most.

I do think all I need to do is flatten the lip but hammering sounds dangerous, like it would be more prone to cracking the paint. Is a newspaper pull where you use a bat with newspaper?

newspaper pull is where you put a stack of paper on your wheel and let the car down on it and creates clearance. but you have plenty of clearance so no use.

oh, ok. yeah, but like you said, I do need spacers so maybe a pull in the front after I get the spacers, we'll see.

cool. you don't need a roll, yet. if you must when you get better wheels, use a rubber mallet, a heat gun and heat up the inner lip so it's hot to touch but not too hot. then gently start tapping the lip up so you fold it up. for my s14, the driver's side was easy but the pass. side was like 100x stronger. anyway looks pretty nice.

But when i rolled mine i just shoved the bat in there and had someone slowly move my car forward. But i didnt care to much about the paint, but i would say you should heat it up a little before you roll them.. Im sure youtube might have something about rolling the fender..

You need better wheels, wider with low offsets, but you should know that, and with that color i would smoke the tails.

Thanks Brian and Thug

Thug: I really do need to flatten the lip actually(as it sits) plus I plan to get some spacers so a little flattening and rolling is in order.

MySXisSlowerThanUrs: Yeah I have seen a few vids but at least one where they drove the car while the object was in there resulted in cracked paint... I think I'll try heating+rubber mallet while I press on the outside.

why do you need a roll when your running +40 offset? i was running 17x8 =35 with a 225/45 and i didnt have to roll the rears and i was tucking tire. i think youll be fine unless your planning on putting some spacers on those( i hope so)

Nevertheless: Yeah I know, I talked about that in my last thread. I have these until I go 5 lug. I did consider smoking but it's just not my cup of tea. I mean it looks pretty good but I just love the straight clear.

ZX88: because it looks like it will rub as it sits, if not it's dangerously close. I have Kazama RUCA's so my neg camber isn't extreme, this being why the gap is so small. I also am most likely going to get spacers.

IMHO i think that's to bold of a color without having aggressive aero and larger wheels with better offsets

It would look better like this.....

I don't want to go to crazy with aero. I definitely want a xenon lip and I might get some clean/mild skirts and a rear bumper cover to match. At most a wangan wing might be in order but we'll see, oh yeah and maybe those Nismo carbon fiber mirrors.

I do plan to change the wheels but that's not high on my list. These wheels are good for now but I plan on getting WedsSport SA-90's when I do go 5-lug.

Finished up on the coils today except for I need to replace a bolt or two. Should I ditch the eccentric(adjustable camber) bolts for plain ones like the others? Also, I was torquing one of the bottom mount bolts on the drivers side and it was almost done and then it suddenly went back to halfway...now the nut turns both ways and gives moderate resistance but it doesn't seem to actually go anywhere. I guess I'm going to have to cut it off *sigh*. Plus the brake line holders on the coils are kinda wonky so I'm going to zip tie the lines in.

Also I am going to start a thread with my stock RUCA's and some headlight housings from RaceOn(Super Made style). I'll post a link as soon as I make the thread.

Filthy engine bay...dust and cleaner collected in the body shop. But either way the coils can be seen.

hey driftiteasy, whats up? thank you very much. After I get her all cleaned up and do a few more fixes(timing chain rebuild, maybe oil pump rebuild, solid sub-frame bushings, wheel spacers) I plan to redo the interior, get an HKS Hi-Power exhaust, DC Sports headers, redo drivetrain, more suspension stuff, and once I get enough saved up rebuild the engine with a stroker kit etc.

I am into drifting, and kinda sorta grip and drag. what about you? what are you into/anything you're doing to your car?

definitely not this weekend but maybe april. Since my car was in the body shop for so long I don't have insurance, current registration, or a current license lol. But as soon as I get everything done I will be driving again, hopefully by the end of the month. Only thing really holding me back id fabing up some buckets for my headlights.

Also, I replied to your steering rack thread and I am going to see if I can find how to replace the seals.

EDIT: answered my own questions about the event lol. So are you planning on drifting/have you drifted that track before?
