engine inquiry on 2002 maxima

I have always replace my engine oil myself with good Synthetic oil, I have been the only owner since new and have had no problems with the exception of lately I have been hearing the lifters clicking very noisy at start up after the car has sat around for a few days with out running it (example 2 or 3 days) The car only has around 80,000 miles. is this normal or do I have a problem?

I should also mention that the noise is heard when parked, not moving anyplace, and as the fast idle slowly rev's down on the cold engine the noise goes slower with the rpm, and after the engine rpm has settled down the noise is still there for a while and softly goes away. it really sounds like lifters without oil.

ok I see this is something know one here knows anything about, so I guess I'll look someplace else for answers.

I also have a 2002 maxima. My engine is making the same noise. I am putting it in the shop for a diagnostic on what is going on. That and I have 3 codes that have my engine light going crazy. I will let you know what i find out probably Friday night.

After you post something on this forum, you have to give it a couple of days before getting a reply. This forum has been really helpful for me to find out different stuff for my car. Dont get impatient, just give it time. Remember most people on here have a 8-5 job.
