  VQ35DE common problem?

just wanted to know if anyone has heard of this before. i heard that the 2 screws holding the butterflies valves tend to loosen up. the screws just get eaten up by the motor and spit out the tail pipe. the real problem is when the vavles fall into the motor. so is this a common problem that vq35 owners should watch out for?

A friend who is a nissan tech was saying something like this... it might have been a recall on a certain set of models or something...

I have heard the Sentra engines have this problem. I have not heard of the VG35 having the issue. Tho I am interested in more opinions from other members. I dont want screws or anything for that matter falling in my engine.

Any Ideas?

It would have to be a pretty stupid mistake for nissan to make. If it is a fault it is certianly only on a certian amount of the engines and quite possibly been fixed by a recall.

Every engine made had production mistakes during assembly. The question is which ones were bad enough to fail during warranty.

Most don't show up until 100,000 miles or later some don't show up until 300,000 miles or 20 years.

Since the average new lux car buyer sells the vehicle just before the warranty expires WHY should the factory place too much emphasis on longevity beyond 100k or 150k.
Engineers only design out to 150k to make sure their are very few failures in warranty.

Every engineer takes an engineering economic analysis course to make sure they are not wasteful!
