Every engine made had production mistakes during assembly. The question is which ones were bad enough to fail during warranty.Most don't show up until 100,000 miles or later some don't show up until 300,000 miles or 20 years.
Since the average new lux car buyer sells the vehicle just before the warranty expires WHY should the factory place too much emphasis on longevity beyond 100k or 150k.
Engineers only design out to 150k to make sure their are very few failures in warranty.
Every engineer takes an engineering economic analysis course to make sure they are not wasteful!
