Took it in - I told him there was a recall. He said my car was not on the list and pulled up my car and "the list" to prove it. Dealer checked it and called to say the sensor needed replacing. (I guess my car proved him wrong.)
He said to pick it up and the part would be there in about 5 days. I asked f it was safe to drive. He said it was. I asked if the airbags worked. He said, "No, the sensor is not working." I told him I felt that it was not safe to drive. He said, "only if you have an accident." I asked for a loaner and he said that was not an option since it was driveable. I reminded him that I had an extended warranty and that it provided a vehicle if mine needed repair. He paused and said "I'll call you back." 20 mins later, he called to tell me they were taking the part from a new Rogue to put in mine and it would be ready in an hour. It was.
Moral of this story...yes, the extended warrany does help.Oh, and "safe" to the dealer shop and to the vehicle driver are two different things.
