I am planning on using this. I bought 4 quarts each of prim, paint, clear I haven't painted it yet though, color choice im going with is Jet Black, probably wont be painting it for months though.I am also interested in end results. I've seen a silver one in my searches of pictures, but didn't look like he cleared it edit: heres the link to pictures of the silver one I seen http://forums.nicoclub.com/zer...t-job

I was going to use this but I tried a test panel. It layed down good with my HVLP gun but as he says in the vid durability is not good, it scratches really easy

i dont sugest it #1 you have to remove all the old paint, or primer the whole car (or it will crack) #2 it still will crack no matter what #3 its lacquer not enamel and it will still need about a good solid weeks worth of wet sanding and all the cracks are still visable it did this on the fenders and roof and a huge spot on my passenger door
and what it looks like before wet sanding ( like a matt finish)
you can some what see the spot under the mirror
i say you can try but dont expect anything great

I'm using PPG to do my 240 because I really want to make sure I get a good finish, but also because the paint shop stuff doesn't come in any colors I want to paint it. However I'll probably pick up about a gallon or so to do my dad's truck this coming summer after him and I do some body work.

You're not suppose to use rattle can primer with that type of paint. It will turn to crap! Also, anyone that has ever done paint and body work knows that prep is everything! Going cheap using rattle cans will get you cheap results! I've help paint and do body work to alot of cars and the #2 rule is no rattle can paint anywhere! #1 is prep of course.

I had no problem with the quality of the finish on my test panel with Primer/Base/Clear all laid with a HLVP gravity feed and sanding between coats and a final sand and buff on the top coat. The finish looked like glass but even after two weeks the finish would scratch really easy even with a finger nail.....go with urethane PPG, R-M or whatever else you'll have better luck with .

if you go all out on prep you will have a good finish. its your primer that determines your finish.

i dont like the red on it that much at all, its gonna be satin black as soon as the weather warms up, but ya it was my frist time painting a car, so i think it turned out pretty good. it served its purpose of being a decent, quick, cheap, paint job for a car show
