How much did the whole setup run you? I need a thermo probe and temp sensor, cause I turn the fans on manually Also where are the parts from and is the oil temp actually hooked up to tell temp?

guys I can take a few pics of my setup if you wish but it is by far the easiest and cheapest way to do it. get a 12 inch fan (35 bucks at autozone) and wire it into your fuel pump fuse. This way when you turn the key the fan turns on. Its always on but its ok, keeps the car running perfect.

Guys I belive the cost of this set up is clear "The whole setup ran me R1000" Never heard of an "R" denominational bill. The ratio of "R100" to a US Dollar is rougly the same as the ratio of unicorns to leprechauns. Yeah I tried hooking an E-Fan to one of my cars this past weekend didn't run a relay (big mistake!!!) I guess like "kornmanz" did running power to the fuel pump fuse essentially ran it off of the fuel pump relay thus not running to high of an amp to any wires and frying them like I did. I hope he responds and really lets you know how much this set-up cost!

Did a little searchin from his myspace he's from south africa1 US Dollar = 9.39761 South African Rand 1 South African Rand (ZAR) = 0.10641 US Dollar (USD) 1000/9.4= roughly $106 Ta-Dah!!! 2 min of research and you can stop scratching your heads! Welcome!

I leave for 5 minutes and it turns into this?hahahaLet me provide a link to the Fan controler,it is made by autogauge : http://www.autostyle.co.za/pro...6&str= The fan controler consisted of the following : 1x fan controler 1x wired 30amp relay 2xtemp probes with long enough wires, and clips 1x double sided tape for fixing the controler 3 x cable tie for the wires Cable tie = Tie strap/ Honda clamp/whatever it is called in your neck of the woods.haha I will not run a single 12" on a turbo charged engine. It will not keep the temp low enough if running off a switch, and not constantly The 14" fan fits the core perfectly like it was made for it Karis

We were running 97 here yesterday ,and we are still in spring..... It held up fine to the temperature, even sitting in traffic for a few min. I read up on the specs of the fan,and it looks like a 14" straight blade fan flows 1000 CFM. >> According to heat dynamics ,a radiator only needs postive airflow of 30% of the core size,to cool the water sufficiently. << Now my fan covers 100 % of the radiator in the height ,and more than 60 % in the width. Hence working fine! One fact that is more important for airflow ,is how well the radiator is sealed off,and able to utilise the air porvided.Air leaking around the side and top/bottom decreases the capacity of the air cooling the core. This is one of the reasons that the Rad fan (when not using a factory shroud),should allways be the same size, and not larger than the core. The edge of the fan blades that are not over the core, will pull the air around the core, and not through it Practical example : If i fitted a 16" fan ,the would have been overhang of 1" per side of the fan.the specs of the fan says that it flows 2000 cfm.Now the 1" of the blade that protudes,is allso the most curved part of the blade, that generates the most flow. The curved part now disrupts the flow (not flowing through the core) ,and flows less than the given CFM.This sometimes knocks of 100s of CFM,not just 5 or 10 Fan placement ,fan shrouds , clean core and correctly working thermostat is much more important than the size of the fan in the end. Ok,my fingers are going to fall off now... Karis
