OK guys, we're about halfway through the transition here... Not a finished product, so don't panic yet...
As you can tell, everything looks a lot different and will take some getting used to, but we're still unpacking.
A few things of note:
Users with identical user names on the existing board have been appended with a new user ID... For example, mine on here will appear as odpl_AZhitman.
If you can't login with your username, try odpl_username. We can address this individually for folks who don't want a different username.
We're working on the homepage for ODPL so that there's an official "face" to the site.... It'll be your new "front door", and will contain links to the individual forums as well as news and the registry we're working on for the 320.
Also, I'll work with the mods on making sure there's good continuity to / from the D21 Hardbody section and the 720 forum... and in perhaps mving the array of forums upwards in the list...
I'll keep adding to this as we run across more things to address... Feel free to point out any weirdness, so I can tackle tasks by priority.
I'd like to get a couple dedicated guys up to speed on how the board mod features work.
To that end, I've asked one of my Admins to personally walk you guys through how everything works. You'll have access to the Moderator forum (kind of a "teachers' lounge" where we can discuss board issues, get help with tasks and blow off steam)...
Phleb has already mentioned that he's wanting to continue his duties, as is Ken... Let me know if anyone else needs me to edit their permissions.
One of the first orders of business will probabl be sorting through the current categories and making sure stuff is in the right place....
I can only imagine you guys are looking at this like a box of china that fell off the back of the truck, but it'll come together quickly... That WoW bulletin board was nearly impossible to work with and presented us with over 24 hours of straight hassles... Boo to the software designer!
We'll get the links on the right side updated, as well as others throughout the site.
Yep, this is going to take some getting used to! But I will no longer have to pull my hair out trying to get technical support at wow board. Hang in there everyone, this board promises to give you a lot more options. Later I plan on posting the full service manuals. Ken
I am usually online after 6pm PST. I will be glad to help you guys out with any questions you may have as far as how the moderator panel (or anything) else works. I am available via email or AIM. I'll try to get ahold of you guys when I get home.

Is there a feature for private messages here? How do we access it. Also, I would be interested in doing the NL 320 registry. I have one that was done in the 80's that I can start with and update it as people send theirs in. Let me know how to get started.
I'll jump in and answer your questions.. Greg can follow up when he has the chance.
We made a decision a long time ago to disable the PM feature on NICOclub. The goal behind this move was to keep as much car/truck related information on the board as possible. Too often people use PM's to work on a specific problem or topic with their vehicles. Too often, too much brilliant knowledge and experience is "wasted" because it's not shared publically. We want to keep as much info online as possible. If you truly just want a private conversation with another party, we encourage email, or instant messaging as they are better formats than forum PM's anyhow.
As for a registry. Go for it!!! We have a 240sx convertible registry that I've been working on for years. We have the format complete on a webpage and will hopefully have it going live in a couple of weeks. One of our tech guys built us a really sweet web page and database to manage it. I bet he could copy the format and whip up one for NL320's in a heartbeat.
As far as building the database, we were able to use Nissan's FAST program to find a listing of all the available VIN #'s for every 240 convertible built. That data includes year, color, emissions, country, etc... So what we do with our registry is have people find their VIN # from the list and then add their name, location, milage, etc... Let me know if you want help with the project. I'll do what I can to help out.
Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
I will give the registry duties a go. Just let me know the details of how to get it started. Your template sounds like a good starting point. I doubt that there is an electronic way to find all the NL vins, but I do have a list of many that were tracked down in the mids 80's to use as a starting point. Members could e-mail or post their info and then it could be added to the registry that was fixed at the top of the section. I would be willing to mod the section. Just let me know what you want to do and how to get started.
This is the first stage at this point. ODPL will be receiving it's own sub-site on NICO similar to our Altima and G-Series forums so there are still some changes coming down the pipe.
In fact, we could even start it as a thread... You know what they say about the journey of a thousand miles...
Fortunately, we should only have a few hundred or so to input!
p.s. A helpful way to do it is to set up notifications on ebay - each time a 320 is listed, we contact the owner, let them know of the registry, and document the VIN and location.
