I'm wondering if there's any way to use the built-in carphone that came in the 93 J30s. I bought this car for my teenage daughter from a friend of mine and it's in exceptional condition. The phone turns on and is ready to use, but I have a feeling it is analog and may not work in today's world. Is there anyway to convert it or utilize the connection to the stereo system? It would sure be great to fulfill the hands-free driving law requirement in CA if I could use this. I hate to take it out since it's in such good condition.
That phone is only serviceable on an analog cell network. Every cellular provider now is digital or better. There is no analog cell service.
Currently in the Garage: Daily Driver: Acura EL Daily Driver: Saab 9-5 2.3t Aero Sportwagon Spring/Summer/Fall Screamer: '94 Infiniti J30t gold package w/HICAS (10+ years of ownership and she still looks&runs like day one!!!)
or if you invest in one of those bluetooth carphone kits, it could be wired up, or maybe even get a headunit with the bluetooth carphone stuff built in, and just use the mic in the car....would take some work
