You know the part thats between the two tail lights?? the red part that says infiniti?? has anyone seen anyone hook up some lights into that peice??
if you pull back the trunk interior, and check it out, there is a hole in the back of that peice where a blub can be inserted... ive been thinking about taking some CCFL's from a computer kit, and putting them into that chamber, and either wire them up to the third tail light, or the regular brake lights.
Currently in the Garage: Daily Driver: Acura EL Daily Driver: Saab 9-5 2.3t Aero Sportwagon Spring/Summer/Fall Screamer: '94 Infiniti J30t gold package w/HICAS (10+ years of ownership and she still looks&runs like day one!!!)
i could make it more pontiac, with a little bit of vinal letters, and some paint... i kinda favor the pontiac look... thnx for saying that driverdriver, i just might do it that way..... LMAO
grr... well taking it apart didnt do anything more than just breaking it... :'(
after i baked it for 20 mins, it was coming apart really well... but then where that keyhole is at for the trunk, it wouldnt come apart, so it ended up breaking. just a small area, nothing too bad. once i got it opened, i found there was a clear peice of plastic(setup to act as a light diffuser) sandwiched between the red peice, and the back peice, which was painted silver on the inside.
i installed my CCFL's that i have into it. i didnt get the effect i was hoping for, they seemed kinda dim, so i swapped power inverters for one of my computer ones, for some reason they blew a cap on the inverter, then after i switched back to the original inverter, they flickered, so i just broke them and trashed them for good. i believe i could get a better effect if i was to just drill holes at the bottom of the whole peice, then put leds into the holes so that i could get a more even lighting. im done for this week, i might try it next week, depending on what i feel like. next big project is to work on doin the angel eyes... :D
-- I'm going to have nightmares about that one, seriously, that's effed up. I mean, the hood!!??!!?? Wow. It makes me feel sick. To each his own, I guess, but I'm sorry I even had to witness it.
