Im lookin around for a chip for my 03 maxima, i wanna get some more power and someone told me about the SLR chip, and i was wondering if anyone knew if this thing is any good or just a peice... and if anyone knows a good chip lemme know PLEASE!

well...if you typed slr in the search box you would've found my thread on the said chip, which is just like ebay chips - worthless.

JWT is your only option or a piggyback tuning unit.

jwt only if you've got the vq30, they don't make a ecu for vq35.

I don't believe that JWT offers an ECU upgrade for the 03 Maxima. Their Maxima ECU upgrade is for the 95/96 Maxima, and can be adapted to the 97-99, but nothing beyond that.

The only "legit" ECU upgrade (this is a re-flash rather than a chip, Nissan ECU's don't do chips) that I know of for the 03 Maxima is done by Technosquare. I think they do a pretty good job, and the work is turned around very quickly.

Of course its also possible to purchase piggyback fuel tuning equipment, get it installed, and find a fuel tuning/dyno shop that knows Nissan engines, but that can add up to a whole lot of money (and, typically, a fair amount of frustration before all is said and done) - more than most people anticipate when they set out on this path.
