I am the proud new owner of a 2008 G35xS sedan in liquid platinum. It has the premium and sport package. I am no stranger to car forums and car modifications. I used to own a 2000 celica and a 2002 Volvo S40 turbo, both of which were modified. I just thought I would introduce myself and say that I look forward to gaining insight and learning about the new G.

Let me be the first to welcome you to NICO lol

That would be my choice for a new sedan as well! I would want the G37xS sedan!

I might go for the 7 speed auto over the 6speed manual someday lol!

What color did you get?

Thank you. I originally wanted the platinum graphite but I was not impressed with that color in person.

The car will be getting tinted Friday and I am looking for 19's or 20's to throw on as well. I also purchased a lamin-x tail light tint film kit.

Welcome aboard. Hope you don't regret waiting a few weeks for the '09 models to come out. I kinda think about having a 7at at times

Nah, I thought it about it, and it just isnt worth the wait and price increase. I got a great deal on this 08. The bigger engine/transmission just wasnt worth paying the several grand more.

Great choice on the XS

I could not decide between the silver and graphite, they both have their moments. Just a quick tip though when you buy wheels do not stagger them, as the ATESSA system hates this.

As for the new seven speed. I have read about it and I have had the pleasure of driving an FX50S with one and its a really interesting. I was not able to get on it but I was pretty impressed buy the shift quality and feel. The electrical system required to operate it is a feat of amazement by itself. Should make for better highway fuel economy without having to resort to a hybrid, although it'll be here soon as well.

Thanks for the tip. I dont know whether to go with 19s or 20s. I dont plan on doing anything to the suspension. I am done with that phase of my life. I am definitely leaning towards some nice wide 5 spokes with a deep dish. I will have to do a search on here to see what size tires will work with either rim.

Welcome to NICO. I want to hear more about the Celi. My wife has a 2000 5mt and I haven't done much in the way of mods to it yet...mainly cuz I love nico and hate newcelica.org lol.

As for rims. May I suggest these? I won't be able to afford them in this lifetime (my G's), but if you can...GREAT!!!

They are forged. Come in 18s and 20s with .5" width increments. I think the 18x9s are only 22lbs with a 4" lip

pics are coming soon!!

as for the rims, I dont know what i am going to get. I am not going to go overboard and spend $4000 on a set, but at the same time, i am not going to buy some cheap wheel that will bend and flake easily.

Those are the AME Shallen CX. I've seen them on a VIP coupe and they were GORGEOUS!!! They should look great on a sedan too.

I think they go for $600-$700/each + tires.

so back to the 5k mark lol! I think you should get a set of Coupe 19's like I have or the ones from the newer g37's!

They look really good on the sedan!

I think one of the guys around here has it done but i don't remember!

I just found out who has them!

OMEGAMERC and he also has an 08 xS !

I think if it doesn't have a locking diff then it wouldn't matter anyway! Just like when you are pulling into a parking space and one tires spins faster than the other!

I say put coupe 19's on it and let infiniti worry about it lol at least until warranty is expired!

If it didn't look so stupid, I'd put the same size front and rears on my coupe. The staggered 19s aren't all that great when they wear out at 12k and you have to pony up $1000-$1200 for a new set.

The issue is beyond a VDC problem. It's the ALTESSA-ETS that has issues with the staggering.

but really if there is no locking differential then their shouldn't be a problem! Mechanically speaking that is... Now a Computer Problem... we that is another story lol!

We need to ask OMEGAMERC!! lol
