My EX dosen't even have a place on the front bumper for the plate . Are you able to take a photo of how the plate attaches, maybe after seeing what the issue is, we can brainstorm and come up with a solution

Was the front plate installed by Infiniti (on the car when you bought it)? If so, then I would think they have some responsibility for the plate falling off the car.

I would agree with the dealer holding some responsibility. If your state law requires a front plate, the dealer usually drills the holes and provides a plate frame (with their logo).I have never heard of one falling off, let alone on a new car. At least Infiniti supplies stainless steel bolts.

The state I live in doesn't require front plates, but the state that I registered in does, so the dealer gave me the kit and instructions. I followed their instructions which include drilling two holes in the bumper cover. I'll see if I can get some pictures up tomorrow.

Why is it registered in a state where you don't live? I would have registered it in your home state and not worried about it.

I did register it in my home state, I'm in the military and move often. And the state I'm from (Oregon) doesn't have sales tax, on anythig.

This is a somewhat old thread, but I have a similar question...I live in California where a front license is required. We tried to get by without it when we bought our G Coupe but eventually got a ticket. After that I found a front license plate bracket by Stillen that uses the front tow threads to mount a license plate frame. The kit mounts as solid as a rock and doesn't harm the body. http://www.stillen.com/product...202DR Now, having just picked up our EX we have the same problem again. Drilling out the bumper is just not an option for me. Has anyone seen a similar device for the EX? Or any other ideas? Stillen doesn't have anything on their site, but I have an email in to them asking if they will have anything for the EX soon. Web searches have turned up nothing (other than this thread!). The EX has a similar tow attachment, but it is off center and I don't know if the measurements are similar enough to work with the same product. If I hear anything good from Stillen I will of course reply with the news, but any other ideas would be VERY much appreciated! Thanks, Rian

I had the same issue but luckily I noticed the loose plate before it fell off. Replaced the missing screw, and the others with longer ones for both front and back. The ones used by the dealer were too short, barely gripping the bumper.

Well, Stillen had 15% off this weekend so I got me the G37 plate bracket (part # 105465). Checking the tow hook measurements, it seems it will fit and clear the bumper. The plate will be a bit to the side, but anything is better than drilling the bumper. Will post an update on the actual fit and the reaction of the proximity sensors when it gets here next week.

Awesome! Thanks br0wser! I have the bracket for my G35 Coupe and was going to take it off and try it on the EX35...but it was going to be an ordeal to be sure. Thanks for saving me from that! Looking forward to hearing how it works out. Rian

The plate finally came. Everything fits fine and clears the bumper, but it leaves about 1 inch of space. It would look much better if it was closer to the bumper. Here are some pics from my phone. And yes, she is dirty...

Thanks for sharing your great pics! Looks like a reasonable alternative to drilling into your EX, but it does block air flow, somewhat, whereas the OEM mount doesn't. Cheers, David

So all one has to do, is give it a few spins and the whole thing comes off ?I guess it's not much different than a couple of screws holding it on.

br0wser, Many thanks for the pics. Quick question...is the inch gap you mention the small side or the bigger side? As the mount is off center and the bumper curves it is different on each side (as your photo shows). Just curious how far out it is. Thanks! Rian

The gap is about an inch on the small side. It looks a bit better with the license plate mounted, but still kind of snowplowish. I'm considering drilling another mounting hole on the plate, somewhere close to the corner, to bring the whole thing closer to the center of the car and the bumper.
