But I wanna be dang sure.I bought a case of Dexron III transmission fluid for the fluid exchange.

Opened the case and it says Dexron III Mercon.

Safe to use it in the J transmission ??

My 97 J30 owners manual says:

"Use Nissan Matic "D" or genuine Nissan Automatic Transmission Fluid. Dextron III/Mercon or equivalent may also be used."

You could call the stealership to be sure, of course they may say you need the "D" stuff & only they have it.

Thanks !!!Just did the second drain refill.BIG diff in color.Old fluid doesn't smell burnt , but isn't as pink as the new.
