Thanks for the feedback - I went and found the reducers on Summit, and in reading the details, I think I may not have stated my question clearly enough. My challenge is not with an odd size between one side and the other on the hose.periferal7 wrote:summit sell hose kits are bigger in diameter, but have reducer sleeves that reduce the inner diameter for different applications, I just bought one for my custom radiator, since the engine has 1 1/4 diameter and the radiator had 1 3/4. they work great.no leaks!
I would suggest the exact same thing. Problem is, it would just undo all the bling bling chroming he just did...tmorgan4 wrote:Since you're obviously wanting to clean up the engine bay and trying to avoid some ugly hoses, I'd go with braided lines and AN fittings. Everywhere that you would normally clamp a hose on gets a weld on AN fitting and each end of the line gets a fitting too. Guaranteed not to leak and trick as hell!
These weld on bungs are made in steel and aluminum to suit your needs. If you aren't familiar with AN fittings, divide the number of the fitting by 16 and that tells you the ID in inches.
A #4 fitting has a 1/4" ID and a #16 has a 1" ID.
Why are you YELLING ? Just kiddin - that's the reason for this post - I cannot source a stainless 1-5/8 , 1-3/8 hose. I've looked at Summit, Jegs, and online in general.periferal7 wrote:I WOULD NOT DO THAT.DOING THAT HAS NO PURPOSE AND WOULD ONLY CAUSE POSSIBLE LEAKS BEING THAT IT IS BRAIDED.JUST USE THE PROPER SIZES.

Also available in the diameters you need, but there is no wired core for strength...

Yes, I know, I'm your hero
You're welcome!npez wrote:you're the man - thanks Steve.
Nick.
Not the perect answer, but what I did---npez wrote:Why are you YELLING ? Just kiddin - that's the reason for this post - I cannot source a stainless 1-5/8 , 1-3/8 hose. I've looked at Summit, Jegs, and online in general.
I guess I'll keep lookin.
Thanks,Nick.
Thanks Craig. I'm going down the same route -sorta. I ordered the Infiniti hoses for under the plenum (that way they're 100% correct) and the thermostat hose/elbow as well. I'm re-using the pipe (it's actually in the last batch of chrome) that goes to the lower radiator pipe along the front of the timing cover.craigztoyz wrote:

AutoZone for the upper, lower is all Z just shortened, then I have the SS crap to put over it to look better, but have not covered any of my lines yet. Figure I still have to pull motor to paint eng bay, so at that time....
That is funny but functional.T45 wrote:I found another way to do it. I lol'd at this one...but hey...it works!

I loved running my car with no filter, and short pipe from intake to maf. LOUD and MEANgs14racer wrote:i did dual -16 out the top and just a regular hose out the bottom, i would imagine for the top you could weld a bung onto the stock outlet and go -20.
