summit sell hose kits are bigger in diameter, but have reducer sleeves that reduce the inner diameter for different applications, I just bought one for my custom radiator, since the engine has 1 1/4 diameter and the radiator had 1 3/4. they work great.no leaks!

Thanks for the feedback - I went and found the reducers on Summit, and in reading the details, I think I may not have stated my question clearly enough. My challenge is not with an odd size between one side and the other on the hose. The odd sizes are 1-3/8" on both sides of the hose and 1-5/8" on both sides of the other hose. So I'm looking to see if I should go up to the next size available (i.e. 1-1/2" and 1-3/4" respectively) and just clamp it down tight. The difference is minimal (1/16" on each side), but I wanted to double-check as I don't want any unexpected leaks after buying $100 in hoses. Thanks, Nick.

I WOULD NOT DO THAT.DOING THAT HAS NO PURPOSE AND WOULD ONLY CAUSE POSSIBLE LEAKS BEING THAT IT IS BRAIDED.JUST USE THE PROPER SIZES.

Since you're obviously wanting to clean up the engine bay and trying to avoid some ugly hoses, I'd go with braided lines and AN fittings. Everywhere that you would normally clamp a hose on gets a weld on AN fitting and each end of the line gets a fitting too. Guaranteed not to leak and trick as hell! These weld on bungs are made in steel and aluminum to suit your needs. If you aren't familiar with AN fittings, divide the number of the fitting by 16 and that tells you the ID in inches. A #4 fitting has a 1/4" ID and a #16 has a 1" ID.

I would suggest the exact same thing. Problem is, it would just undo all the bling bling chroming he just did...

Why are you YELLING ? Just kiddin - that's the reason for this post - I cannot source a stainless 1-5/8 , 1-3/8 hose. I've looked at Summit, Jegs, and online in general.I guess I'll keep lookin. Thanks, Nick.

Tyler, I could've gone AN/weld-on if I had thought about it earlier, but as Steve mentioned that would've had to been pre-chrome. So in general is everybody doing (A) weld-on/AN or (B) using the factory hoses? The ones under the plenum I can probably do factory hoses as they can't be seen as much and they're only (2-3/4" long and 3" long respectively) the upper and lower radiator hose will be a challenge as I was looking at either Spectre magna-cool or Earl's form a flex hose and they only come in 1.25, 1.5, and 1.75 inches ID. I would think there have to be other options out there...... Thanks everybody for your input so far..... Nick.

just a suggestion. But if ur goal is purely for bling factor u might consider this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW cheap alternative but would give u the steal braided look and also solve any leak issues because ud be retaining the stock hoses? again just a suggestion

Probably not what you're after, but after pulling my hair out trying to make some hoses from the auto parts stores fit, I ended up getting some 1-1/4 silicone elbows and 1-1/4 brass tubing to make mine work. It turned out nice and is very simple and easy to change. Not cheap though, each elbow was 20 bucks.

Not the perect answer, but what I did--- AutoZone for the upper, lower is all Z just shortened, then I have the SS crap to put over it to look better, but have not covered any of my lines yet. Figure I still have to pull motor to paint eng bay, so at that time....

Thanks Craig. I'm going down the same route -sorta. I ordered the Infiniti hoses for under the plenum (that way they're 100% correct) and the thermostat hose/elbow as well. I'm re-using the pipe (it's actually in the last batch of chrome) that goes to the lower radiator pipe along the front of the timing cover. On the lower/upper sections of hose I'll cross that road when I get to it. May end up going the route you did with modded Z hoses. Thanks again, Nick.

i did dual -16 out the top and just a regular hose out the bottom, i would imagine for the top you could weld a bung onto the stock outlet and go -20.

Your setup looks very slick I think AN won't work as well for me because my Howe racing radiator (I had bought it as part of the Z1 motorsports ultimate cooling package for my TTZ) has an inlet/outlet setup for clamped hose. So doing AN would require welding the now chromed parts (on the motor) as well as the radiator inlet/outlet.I think I'll have to go with regular hoses (possibly Z hoses as Craig mentioned) and sleeve them for aesthetics. This may change as I put everything together, but I think I'm leaning in that direction for now. If I had seen the AN option earlier I could've probably gone that route instead. Thanks, Nick.
