I am considering playing a little cleanup under the hood. I was thinking about getting some of these to shorten lines for the boost controller/wastegate and the boost gauge.

anyone try these and have feedback?

Why not just weld a nipple onto the intercooler piping? It would look so much cleaner. If you have stainless steel intercooler piping, I have some leftover piping that I used for making a nipple on the intercooler pipe. Email me at [email protected] if you want some.

I just ordered that. I'm using it for my synapse BOV. I'll let you know how it does.

my piping is aluminum...

I don't have access to a welder on hand and I hate trying to get the retards at the local muffler shops to do anything....they make it seem like brain surgery.

My piping is aluminum as well and no body wants to do it right. The "best" welding shop in town put some liquid weld on my tap for the pipe with a big FAIL. Thinking about caping the hole and using this item....

Those things are probably okay, just be sure to use a decent fiberglass reinforced coupler.

I considered using one but I ended up drilling my stock compressor outlet and tapping it for a brass fitting that I got at the hardware store. used a little JB weld to make sure it was air-tight and it's been perfect.

Dont take your aluminum pipes to the muffler shop. They won't have the right kind of rod to use if they even TIG at all. Check the yellow pages under Welding for people who advertise TIG and get a price quote. cuz I went to the first douchebag I found in the book and he charged me $50 to zap on my intake's recirculation fitting. it was a 2 minute job. I don't think re-filling the tank of Argon for the welder is more than $20. ><

I got mine epoxy to my turbo outlet pipe on my t25. I went from 2200 rpm starting boost on the old set up to 1800 rpm in 3rd gear. I see full boost at 2300-2500 at 15 psi. Before it sees full boost at 3.5k

Yeah,

I installed one of these when I upgraded to the gt2871r and had been working for a few months now with no problems.

Just make sure it is on tight.

good luck

This comes up right below my air filter (driver-side front wheel well). You wouldn't know it was there unless I showed it to you. The only reason I got this tap was because the Synapse BOV required a boost only source. My job frowns on bringing your home projects to work and this is just as easy. Like you said, one of many options.

Yeah, I am becoming pretty convinced that I should at least try it.

thanks moyea
