ok i found a 86 300zx n/a 5 speed. not sure if its gl, gll, or w/e and dont know how to tell. but its in pretty good shape needing to small patches in floor where rear mounts behind seat. but for $300 its a good deal. i just got a stock turbo from ebay. im tryning to get everythin i need to conert it over. so if anyone knows what i will need please feel free. im a pretty good mechanic and have done some work with turbos. also wondering about what transmission i have and if i can/need to do anything with the rear end. (i plan on drifting)

thanks alot, Ron

The best thing to do would be to find a turbo parts car but if you can't find any laying around here's a list of some of the stuff you'll need (though some stuff like piping and turbo may be aftermarket or custom so may not be needed from a Turbo Z):

- T3 Turbocharger and exhaust elbow from 84-87 300ZX Turbo- Drivers side exhaust manifold- Downpipe- Front crossmember (both the crossmember and engine mount bracket must be swapped for turbocharger fitment)- Drivers side engine mount bracket (bolts to block)- All intake piping (from Airflow meter to Throttle body)- Alternator mount, tensioner (and longer belt for application because the alternator mounts on pass. side instead of drivers side)- Oil pan- Turbo oil lines (and water lines if applicable)- Fuel injectors (260cc/min instead of 180cc/min)- Correct ECU (Interchange info here)- All applicable gaskets

+1 Redz31.net is what I used to help me get a basic idea of what I needed. Also If you plan on drifting you will need to do something about your open-diff.

Ehh... as far as drifting goes I really have no idea, never tried it really. Off the top of my head though I would think you would want a good limited slip differential or similar, decent power of course, after that... I'm not really sure. Sorry I couldn't be of more help in this area.
