OK, so I started in Jan, and have never made a topic just for my ride.

The purpose,(as it sat beside a few of my other cars for a few years) was to drop this engine in my RX7, but the donor of the 5spd was too clean to dump. SO new project.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------What if in 89 Nissan had decided to enter the US market, not just in luxury family cars, but in Musclecars too. I present the Infinity Z45. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I did my wiring in Jan, and then redid it 4 times to be sure it is how I want it. I have had my motor for 4 years, and used to drive the car it came from. I just changed to a new motor this last week, and got very lucky with it. 103K and just had its 100K maintance done. Mobil 1 every 2500.

The car, it has a lil damage, but minimal, getting it worked out, and repainting the car, Silver or Blue, finishing the interior, and selling it. I Build to sell, Only way to be a single parent and survive doing what I love.

I Have a few thousand pics of thoughout the build, and a lot of chronological so I can do a how to section on this swap. I am tring to upload a Video at the moment, and it is taking forever!!!!!!!!!!!

Vids to come asap.

Craig

Night video, mostly for sound, and a lil teaser of the car.

20 minutes to upload it each one to Photobucket. Of the 18 I have, I only plan to post the new ones, not the testing ones.

Let me know what you think

This one took a long time to load, so hope you enjoy.

Near the end of vid, I had a lil issue with the shifter's mount. This is just a lil of 1st and a bit of 2nd. If I can get it inspected this week, so I can have less of a reason to talk to an officer, then I will post some freeway, and launch vids. I just have to find a better video camera, that can record the exhaust. Enjoy, craig

Never tried, and I rarely post Vids. The ones, today, I want to post, but there is a lil issue, I have to see if I can edit them.

Thanx for the kind words. It is very Beastly, but you have no idea, if I can edit one of todays freeway tests, it will tell the tale of the power.

Wes, I know, I want to, SO BADLY, But $$ is tight, I am looking to see about pulling a 90 ECU, testing it, and if all good, tring to do it. Not driving it to AZ, gotta finish, and get $$.

MORE VIDS TO BE POSTED IN AN HOUR OF SO.

Yes my foot slipped on the clutch going into forth, causing a lil double, but....

Started in 1st to get straight, and out, and then in 2nd, at low rpm, full tilt boogie. when the Vt opens, the rears spin, the entire time, until I let off, the back of the car was slidding side to side in a very uncomforable on the steering wheel kind of way. This thing flys!, when the rear was slidding the whole front is lifting, A, torque, B, no front fascia, hood, T tops Ok t tops have nothing to do with it, but, who needs um, its only 100 or so

Well, here ya go

god those videos are SICK!!!!! Sounds like you could use some better rear tires!!

Sounds like 1st gear is a joke, 2nd is stupid, and 3rd is freight train.

how many pics/vids do you have? If you can do it all at once we can upload a bunch here.. All I need to do is put them in a zip file and we're good to go!

Thanx, tires, yeah, they ar good, but not great, and I'd prefer at the moment to keep THAT as my point of weakness, rather then the driveshaft, or ?

first, is pointless, a little clutch and 2nd is a great startoff gear, 3rd is scary, 4th, is too, but 5th, on the gas, is not safe yet, need downforce on front of car. I gotta get with you and Shane in the next few weeks.

Vids, I have ALOT, but they usually have a sound coming from in the car, that some may not approve of, so I am not posting them. Part of being a single parent. But I do be safe, behind the wheel.

Craig

I will be done in a fw weeks with body, interior, and then it goes, I have a month till a J45 starts, if anyone needs work done.

AND THIS IS STOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SUPER ENGINE, BUT STOCK, NO ECU(yet)

I'm going to love swaping in 'Great condition" VH's into things. My new favorite engine.

Now time for a break. I am tring to edit a few Vids of the last Engine to upload. The last engine was quick, this one is A LOT quicker. But the other engine had a much more fierce sound mostly from intake. Fixing my exhasut leaks could have something to do with it too.

Driving the Z45 around town daily, I have to be nice on it, and when I am, it is like a nissan, quiet, and tame. Then I see something Rice, and have to show it What American Built Rice is. N then its hard to stop. The radio is useless with this engine. Who makes a better beat then a VH45? OK, a C6 Z06, but come on. Oh a G35 got schooled yesterday, by a ol Z32. Spanked is a more accurate detail.

Hhahah Craig, you're like a big kid again! :p

But I know what you feel like, when I first got my R31 going with the VH41DE, all I was doing was caning it around everywhere. I drove all over the city to show all my mates it was up and running... lol! I approve

Your videos are so motivating, I can't wait to get the stroker conversion up and running! Gonna work my arse off this weekend and get more done!

n/a gears- 4.10I lost around 200 or so, maybe more. I took out all the intake crap, and stripped down the motor of what was not needed, and the aluminum motor weights a lot less then the cast iron 6 that came out. I am a few inches higher up front now then before. I thought it was higher, till I busted up some turns. 6 finger fender gap right now. Thats about to get worked on too. When I take it to track in a few weeks, I will get it weighted. I am planning on taking it to the Texas Mile next month, as it is only a few hundred miles away, and it'd be nice to see what it does in the mile. Problem is I'd have to swap in the Q's gearing, to be competative, as the 4.10s will not do much over 150 or 160, but I'd get going fast as is.

Everything Z, the air box between lights, all the ducts.....

on Vh45, all I am running, is upper and lower plenium, throttle body, maf, and a 45* 3.5" and a lil silicone boost hose. Acone filter is going on tomorrow. Lost a few extra pounds of intake crap, but over all, I think I am about a fat guy low on weight. Maybe a lil more maybe a lil less. Till I weight it and can weight a 2+2 with equal fluid levels, I will not know.

getting a new ecu tonight, Shorted the other one when I broke the drivers mount the other day. I tried to use the new rubber mounts on new engine, going back to the solids. Snapped the rubber isolator.

Well, I got a new 90 ECU in it yesterday, after having shorted the other one out. Drove it nicely all day, and night, today was good, a few kills (91 GT stang, chated after for a few mins., and a nice rsx) after dinner, had to show off too much. did a hard burnout, shifted through it, and ended up glazing the clutch. Gotta pull it this weekend and get it turned. Very surprised, thought I had it broke in enough, but It glazed. Oh well, I always break in my toys. If they can survive me, I know it will be able to take a lick.

engine, eveything else is AWSOME!!!

Craig,

That's awesome - other than the clutch As far as the clutch I know my centerforce dual-friction that I had on a previous car, as well as the RPS on this one had like a 500 mile break-in period.

Now the glazing in normal, as when I asked several people, including RPS, I was told the clutch rating is not based on a "clutch-dump" but rather after the clutch has been engaged (think autocross, etc.) Mine is rated over 500lb/ft but still slipped a bunch at the 1/4 mile track with the sticky stuff on the track. This was at about 390-400RWHP on my previous setup.

Just thought you'd want to know.

Thanks,Nick.
