Yeah, pretty much they are all going to work just as well as anything else. The only difference in a HKS oil cooler and a $50 Setrab ebay special is about $750. Seriously, get a used Setrab from a winston cup car and make your own lines, you CANT lose. Here, I'll even find a totally sweet oil cooler for you. Here, this would rape your oil temperature so hard the car would never reach NOT. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

Have I misses something over the years? Setrab used to be "high-end" Now it's cheap? Well, they've always been the respected name in oil coolers. A long time ago i couldn't afford one and bought a crappy B&M from Jegs. It worked fine and was built like a tank. BTW, that thing is HUGE.

Setrab is pretty much the top tier in oil coolers, thats why I'm saying its dumb as hell to buy anything else! You could make up some lines, get a sandwich plate from Summit Racing and have an entire oil cooler setup for like, $120 TOPS.

Uuuh, what? all those pictures are of crap on a SR. How could it not fit if the picture is it, fitting, on a red top SR. But lets get some stuff out of the way first.1. What the hell are you talking about? 2. How does this have anything to do with oil coolers? 3. Why, the fxck, did you not ask this in the SR subforum? 4. Did you buy that Setrab oil cooler I linked you to?

Do you have a thermostat? I read it might be dangerous not too because you could "overcool" your oil. I'm thinking of piecing one of mine together as well, but just don't know how I would work the thermostat.

Also look for a used 2 GEN RX-7 Oil Cooler, they all have a built in thermostat.

I have a thermostat built into the sandwich plate for the filter. I holds the oil at around 180 degrees Fahrenheit no matter how hard I drive it.

Would this work?http://www.bahnbrenner.com/vw_..._4cyl edit: or this http://store.240sxmotoring.com/groilcoadw.html And let me get this straight... Thermostat is closed, oil just circulates through the engine and filter as normal, thermostat opened, oil goes through filter, then cooler, then back into engine?

That should work. Thermostat closed, oil goes through the filter to the engine. As the oil heats up, the thermostat opes slowly, bypassing more and more oil to the cooler. Even at full open, it will not cause all the oil to flow through the cooler.
