My dad just dropped a 25 year old Lil Chief smoker my way that's been sitting in his garage. The unit is complete and the heating elements work, but the grills are pretty rusty. It's the smallest one that is a top-loading model.
Anyone have any experience with one of these? Is it worth cleaning up or should I just start saving my money to get something better? Mainly I'm looking at doing jerky and whole chickens.
i have a lil chief, it works great. i do a lot of jerky, smoked fish, and am about to try some beef brisket. i would clean it up, i think you can get the replacement grilles for cheap.
When did I realize I was God? Well, I was praying and suddenly realized I was talking to myself. NICO photo contest crew..........three, count em, three times Proud Creator of WBDM2TTWFOC: Cuz selling is for pussies!!
Thanks, guys. I'll go ahead and clean it up, then give it a try. I've always made my beef jerky in the convection toaster oven but it's very limited on size and I have to fight the kids for the toaster.
