I'm working on getting the wiring out of my parts Z right now. I have completely removed the ecu wiring harness. Is there any other parts of the wiring harness I should plan on removing from the vehicle? Or do I just tap into the stock 240 wiring for the relays and fuses and such. Any help would be appreciated, or if someone could point me in the right direction seek that help. Thanks guys.

That should be all that is needed to get the engine running. There's a chance the Consult harness could be separate so if you want to keep the Consult capability I'd go ahead and pull that out as well (if the 240 doesn't already have it).

Pardon if it's a lame question. What is a consult harness? Is that going to be the harness that does the OBD stuff? There was only one large set of wires connected to the ecu and everything connected to that is what I pulled out. There are 4 connectors on that harness that tied into the body harness of the Z and the fuse boxes. I am going to try to identify them with wiring diagrams and tie them into matching places on the S13 body harness. Any other tid bits of wisdom anyone? thanks guys

On the driver's side of the Z there is a white plug, basically for diagnostics with Nissan's Consult program. What's nice about keeping it though is you can buy a sort of adapter and get some software that will read the data from the Consult plug giving you a lot of information that the ECU is seeing.

I have emance's consult software and adaptor. I bought it for my pick up and it isn't the right one. I will check and see if it works on your 300zx ecu. What year is it? If it will work its yours (just pay shipping). I know I will never use it.

Looks like it will. It says it has been tested with the 300ZX Z32 VG30DE/TT (Z32 chassis is 1989 and on). Looks like it should work. FYI, I bought it off of ebay, here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...32789.
The thing works like it shows. At least the software and cables, lol . My truck doesn't have the DDL connector (it's a 93?). Oh well. Send me a message/email and i will drop it in the mail as soon as i can.

Hey I'm doing the same swap on my 89 240sx next weekend if all goes well. Is there anything you've done or experienced that I need to know about? My roommate and I are putting the motor in. Also I'm thinking of converting to a single turbo. Do all I have to do is change the intake manifold and whatnot to make it a single or should I just stay with the TT? I know it'll probably be a tight fit. Was looking for the DET since it's a little smaller but couldn't find one, so got the DETT instead. Thanks for any info.
