stupid honda head timing, i hate my life

does any one know how to set the head timing on a 99 accord f23 vtec? I set the engine at top dead center and left the cam gear at the postion marked TOP facing upward, But intake valve for clyinder 1 hit and those are the only set, i think. all help would be appriated. By the way i hate hondas
