how many gallons left when gas light on (04 coupe)

Mine comes on with around 4 gallons left.

The best way to find out is to get to a gas station as soon as the light comes on and fill up. It won't give you an exact amount, but you can subtract the amount pumped from 20 and get a good idea.

My I30 wouldn't fit the amount Infiniti said it would. I ran it down to the point where it would barely start, then got to a gas station and it was a gallon short of the max.

yea... i got same question too, my car is used so i don' t know how bad the last owner abused it because is so not accurate.. when the needle almost reach very bottom i got too scared so i fill it up. But the pump stop at 12 gallon |?!?! and the needle say full.

its been like that for month. any help please?

fuel filter? or that's what i get off a used car?

I'll have to find the info on cleaning the in-tank sensor. They get gunk on them and start giving false readings.

You might also try a few tank fulls of fuel system cleaner.

Yes it is a 20 gallon tank on all G35/G37 regardless of the year. My fuel light comes on with about 3.5 to 4 gallons of gas still in the tank. I would say that about normal. I have always taken my car to the dealership for oil changes and other maintenance stuff and whenever they give me a G loaner this seems to still be the case.

Mine is about the same but since reading that fuel in the tank prevents the fuel pump from overheating, I fill up at the 1/4 mark. Why chance a fuel pump failure from overheating or at the worse running out of gas.

You might have to have infiniti fix that thing in the gas tank that never lets you fill the tank all the way...
