Well fellow NicoNauts, Here are some pictures of the 2 newest members of my family:

Ford F250 Superduty with a 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel engine and 253,000 miles. Got an excellent deal on it and ended up putting 3K into it recently.

Pics:

And here are some pictures of the 2009 Toyota Corolla with the Sport package:

I picked up the truck last month from my brother in law who was going to trade it in. He gave it to me for the price the dealer was going to give him for it which was $3800. It was just too good of a deal to pass up so i did it. I put the wheels on yesterday and tinted it about an hour ago. I put an Edge 5 stage performance chip on it as well as an intake, and a FASS (Fuel Air Separation System) system. She runs like a champ and hasn't given me much trouble for 250,000 miles.

The Corolla is the economy car. It gets 35 MPG on the highway and has OK power (nothing compared to the Ford ). The Corolla was only 20K out the door so we did a 3 year loan at 0% interest. The payment is $500 per month.

Sorry about the long post, I guess I'm just bored. Enjoy

The Diesel is great. . . especially when someone is following too close for comfort. Just kick the chip up to 100 HP and their car disappears in a black substance

It works great!

Book value on the truck is $10,000 which is why I couldn't understand why he would want to go give it to a dealer for 3,500.

^ Thanks!

Me and my buddy both have Ford Diesels and of course if you have a Ford you have to have a reliable Toyota to fall back on

I'm not sure I understand buying a brand new economy car, unless you have no cash and are willing to endure payments just to have something to drive (its how Cobalts and G5s get sold). It is inherently uneconomical to purchase one new because of depreciation and the environmental impact of manufacturing. A used truck and a used Corolla would have been more advantageous.

I mean, its a Corolla. Whether its old or new, its still a dependable bore that offers great fuel economy and a quiet ride. So save your earnings and buy an old one. If you're going to take out a loan and make a sizable payment, it ought to be for something more enjoyable.

This is how Henry David Thoreau would have approached the problem:If you work 25 hours a month to pay for your car, and another 5 hours for full insurance coverage, is it really worth it? Almost an entire work week so you can drive a Corolla.

Over the course of three years, thats 1000 hours of your time devoted to working for that car.

The reason for the corolla is because we are travel azzloads of miles. In the first 2 weeks we had 2000 miles on it. The Corolla depreciates so little that it is almost stupid to not buy a new one. When it comes to selling the car we will still have equity in it.

I know that buying a new economy car defeats the purpose of economy, but when it is a Toyota it all becomes worth it when you go to sell it.

The 25 hours a month thing all depends on how much you get paid, and if you job means alot of driving you have to have a car to drive

I got an Edge Juice with Attitude. I would probably prefer a Duramax over a Stroker but the Stroker is a good engine.

Soot pictures coming soon

Yes, it is a 4WD with a manual transmission. . . since the hubs are covered by the hub caps it's gotta be fun next time I want to use 4WD. . . oh well, I guess I'll just have to stay on the road

Nice truck! Not a fan of the new corolla much, but hey your choice. The truck on the other hand is awesome. I love diesel trucks. I always have said that I wanted a hopped up diesel truck and then hopefully run into Al Gore's caravan, then floor said truck and let the black smoke pour out

Hopeful not by your power stroke.

Anyways sorry to hear your yota didn't make it.

And to add a comment that I didn't add when this thread was young... Nice truck! My father has one too, year 2000. Gold with black under trim. He keeps telling me about his neighbor who drives to Alaska frequently traded his F250 diesel for a Cummings diesel and basically ends up regretting the trade.

BTW his truck pulls 24 MPG FTW!

The Corolla is an economy car. . . It wasn't intended to be a girl catcher; thats why I have the truck .

And no, my Power Stroker didn't butt munch my Corolla, you pervert! LOL! It was a Yukon.
