Well, I'd be glad to tell you all about lowering an M35x. Not to change your mind but for what its worth.

I did this last week with the Eibach kit for the standard M(Eibach #6376.140), had them on for only 22 hours and decided it was too risky. I returned the next day to have the factory springs put back on.

I found a shop who installed them for $100 per corner($85 had I bought the springs from them) and they do a TON of work on Nissans. I got a package deal from Stillen on both the springs and my new exhaust(awesome sound!).

As for the installation, I'll start with the factory ride height. My M is currently in for 30K service but the pre-install measurements the shop took were about 4" clearance in front and 3" in back. AFTER the springs were installed, it was dramatically different!! The front went down to about 1.5" clearance and the rear fender lip was EVEN with the face of the tire. OMG did this car look nice!!!!!!!!!!!! Even with my factory 18" wheels.

I guess I was so disappointed with the final outcome I didn't bother taking pictures but it looked identical to all the NON-AWD M's that I have seen posted on this forum.

Here was the immediate drawback. With the first bump I took evenly across both front tires on the test drive, the front shocks bottomed out! I suppose that while this is somewhat to be expected in a lowered car, I have also since been told that there are NO BUMP STOPS on the M35X.

I will say though that the ride on the straight-and-narrow was really pretty decent otherwise and it did handle better.

So, the conversation quickly turned to what else could I do such as add adjustable shocks. I called Stillen and they said they didn't have any adjustable shocks listed specifically designed for an M35X(including coilovers) but there may be something available this coming Fall.

So, the moral of my story being in sales, half my life behind my windshield, taking clients to lunch and hauling stuff in my trunk, this was just not for me.

With that said, this experiment cost me $800 not counting the springs so I now have a brand new set of Eibachs that I am selling for $190 plus shipping.

I'm currently in an Diamond Graphite 06 M35 nonsport (aerokit and factory chrome 19s) and just recently installed some Tein H.Tech springs. I bought the springs off ebay at $240 shipped and installation was $55/spring. The front and rear drop is claimed at 1.2/0.5" respectively. The drop is conservative and so far looks good as it should slighty lower within the next few weeks as they settle in. The ride is a bit firmer on bumpy roads but is pretty much identical on the highway as before. The handling is improved and the turning radius is amazing, feels like I'm in a g35 coupe. I did not feel a need for a chamber kit or shocks since I chose a conservative drop and my mechanic agrees that it should be fine without. So far, after the install, I'm satisfied with the H.Tech springs but will continue to test them out for a few weeks.

Yes, these are the ones you want if you have an X model. I've installed them on about 5, M35x's so far, and they are great. Others, give too much drop and you can run into issues.

I actually read in another post, maybe FA that the fender opening is actually a bit higher in the front on Ms, and looking at pics, i think that's right! So its not necessarily sitting higher possibly...

Just added them to the site, I just checked and have two sets left of M35X specific springs. These were airfreighted to us from Japan and price includes the airfreight. When you checkout, local shipping will be added. These are the only 2 sets in the USA as we speak.

Got these springs delivered from Jason yesterday. The box and springs themselves simply say PNY50 4wd, not 35 or 45x. I'm getting them installed and an alignment done by a Nissan dealership friday. I'll post pictures and a review asap.

If I'm right, then this may mean m35x as well as m45x fitment Y50 is the chassis name. In Japan that call AWD, 4wd.

Yeah that's what I was hoping also. I was happy when I saw that because it didn't specify 35x or 45x which means they should work fine on my 45x too! Now hopefully my spoiler will be here by Thursday also lol.

Got the springs installed today. lowered both front and back pretty evenly, seemed like slightly more then 1.25 in tho. Sits a little higher then Infinitim35xs car does. Fronts a little higher up on mine also(it also started higher). on small bumps ride is pretty close to stock, but on larger bumps its definitely firmer, still acceptable tho. Overall pretty much what i expected, pretty happy with it, Haven't tried out the handling too much yet, but it feel much tight with no noticeable roll any, more, hugged a few turns like glue.. I took highly accurate before after measurements , before the back was "3 fingers" now its 1 , front was "4 fingers" now its 2 lol. Oh and the alignment was 1.5 degrees front and 1.7 rear negative camber, that was done at Nissan and it was best he could get it with the adjustment on the car, which is just in the acceptable for frint and slightly to the red in the rears but not too bad he said. I'll maybe have pics tomorrow it was raining here today. and supposed to tomorrow also.

I would like to know if anyone can elaborate a little more as to why the 2wd springs wont work? I keep reading "run into problems" -what kind of problems are we looking at? Are the spring size different from 2wd to AWD?

All the threads I've read are vague...I would also like to lower my X a little, just would like some insight for what to expect....Espiler's are hard to come by...ANY CLARIFICATION would be appreciated!

I've read they work, just maybe not as well as the ones made for the awd, probably stiffer due to the added weight of the awd system in the front only. Anyway heres my car with the Espilir springs made for the awd model.

Before lowering/spoiler

After lowering with spoiler

looks good... the front sits like mine a little higher than the back. so how does it ride? are you happy with the outcome?

yeah basically i measure and the front had a larger gap then the back before hand so its a uniform drop and it still sits slightly higher after, but much less noticeable now. And overall I'm pretty happy, rides still pretty good, more sporty but not bad, handling is really good now. Only thing the back right sits 1/4" lower then back left, I have to look into that more, gonna give it a few more days to settle tho first.

Pics looks great mikeym45x!

The Espelir springs I have now and "X" model specific. They are 100% designed for the "X" model. While I've sold normal Espelir springs for the X model, they still work, but the car would sit lower due to the extra weight. These new springs are specific for the X cars. I have 1-2 sets left straight from Japan, and the only one is the USA with any.

Yeah its barely noticeable, exactly 1/4" I wish I measured it before hand so I can say if there was a difference before hand. Anyone else have or notice this on theirs?

It's normal, even on stock cars, due to where the gas tank is, how full it is, etc. You just tend to look at things more closely after you mod. I do the same thing.
