CakeDaddy, your ride is something else! Very well done! Care to share some tips on how you keep your exterior clean, shiny and swirl free?
Viperatc1, any pics of your ride?
thanks for the props!
as for my clean, shiny, swirl free..... I recently posted this pic in the detail section. Notice the tall black 3M bottles...Good stuff!!!
...but I here is the short version on keeping this black M look fresh:
1. wash the paint with a good quality soap (i use wizards brand)2. after it dries I use an "extra cut 3M compound 1200 grit (part num. 06060) Use a good buffer with clean pads.3. Next, I use the "3M swirl mark remover" part num 06064 (this stuff is formulated for black cars and it a swirl rmover and wax I think) Apply with different pad on buffer.4. I use wizards shine master polish with a soft foam pad on the buffer.
note: I'm not expert, but I welcome any nay sayers and I'm open for new ideas.
I make sure I park my car against the sun to make sure that all my fine scratches/swirls are removed.
I recommend starting with a small section of the car like the rear trunk lid, also be careful not to burn these plastic bumpers if you ever use a buffer.
pic taken with the sun off the rear quarter panel
go get this stuff if you have a black car
