Why make em from stainless?

Stainless steel is:

More expensiveHeavierMore prone to cracking

Apart from looks & being rust free, there's no real need to use it!

I got everything to make my headers from Summit Racing. They sell a mandrel bend kit for making headers and I got a pair of hooker collectors.

total cost, less than $500... and considering burns collectors cost about $300 a piece, I saved some money. Are they as nice and the burns stuff? Not at all, but I didn't have that kind of cash laying around. Especially being my first set.

321 Grade SS is more crack resistant but will certainly crack your pockets Usually used in air craft and space craft. I think Burns sell them also

What you got there should work well, I hope you TIG weld it. If you want to polish it up you could use a polishing flap disc similar to this http://www.bobthewelder.com.au/home.php?cat=537

Unfortunately I don't have access to a tig, and I'm too inexperienced on one to do this level of work. I'm going to mig them and have them ceramic coated... maybe my next set will be stainless and tig'd.
