alright everyone the world is being attacked by zombies. It's pretty much you fighting for survival in a city infested with zombies. My question to you is if you had the choice of a single weapon what would it be?

Basic Living Dead rules apply. In case you are unaware of the Living Dead terms of termination here they are...

"Zombies will remain animated until their brains become severely damaged. A zombie's mobility may be hampered by structural damage, but such damage will do nothing to reduce the "life force" driving the body. Body parts severed from an undead brain will become inanimate."

Now theoretically, you are in a city, so if you are to choose a weapon that requires ammo, you can make your way to some gun stores, however this is quite dangerous and supplies may become limited. Also these have to be real world weapons so no BFG from doom (although that would be some awesome stuff) although you can be creative with this and create your own custom weapon.

I would have picked a sniper but being far away from them can be bad... Unless you make sure all of them would be kept away because if they get up close you're ****ed.

50 cal rounds necessary for one zombie tho?

My weapon of choice would have to be no doubt

keeps a safe enough distance away from your enemy, yet extremely effective for decapitations and brain slicing...it would be done something like this...

yea ironman suit is gonna be hard to top. although not very realistic it still would be pure ownage and badass especially since the zombies wouldnt be able to bite through the armor.

Ironman suit is over powered...

I would use Nico to distract them. If it can lull people of average intelligence into a non-productive state it should have no trouble memorizing zombies so I can just crush there heads with an FJ20 con rod.

ohhh folks... all have made valid answers but if anyone has read this book:

you would realize that if you were the only one alive in a city of zombies, deciding what weapon to use is the least of your worries. But, sticking to the topic of the thread, I would most likely pick any kind of bladed weapon because they are effective and they don't need reloading.

Yep, I have me a copy right next to my computer. I picked it up in curiosity and just read a couple pages at the local Barnes & Noble. What started at a couple pages turned into me actually buying the book and reading the whole thing from cover to cover. Don't make me out to be some crazy guy that believes that zombies are real or anything, but its a great read...

Its pretty interesting... If anyone has ever questioned the existence of zombies, that book does a bang up job of trying to convince the reader...

just knowing that a book exists about zombie survival that isn't a complete farce makes me happy, i'm not sure why, though.

probably an armored vehicle. or if that's not an option, hole up in a building similar to Mr Will Smith's (WHY DID HE NOT PUT THE LIGHTS ON TOP OF THE BUILDING POINTING DOWN...pissed me off he could be that retarded)from the roof i'd use a long range weapon to take out anything i can spot, just for fun. if i need to venture out for resupply...i'd carry a katana, a shotgun, and an ak47.

oh and i'd make a suit of steel armor...a zombie who can't bite you is a mentally retarded homeless person with a penchant for brains.

wow best analogy ever..I'd go for the metal baseball bat, drill a hole in the bottom. get some cement/sand in there to add some impact to the swing.+1 for bladed stuff though.

I know i probably wouldn't survive, but i'd have fun smashing stuff before they got me.

There's only one kind. the shambling kind.

Fast zombies are a farce created by modern hollywood to wow audiences. Any zombie aficiando would know that no zombie could ever perform complicated tasks like a jogging gate.

Also, I have to agree that if I were in a city of zombies, shooting them would be the last thing I do. Might as well call the whole damned city at that point with a megaphone yelling "free meat right here!"

But in the end, anything semi auto with some sort of optics on it (preferably long range) would be my choice. Or an M1 abrams.

I don't know -- I think some of the fast ones work. 28 days later was good with fast ones, b/c they weren't really 'living dead' so much as infected with rageahol.

If I could have multiple weapons, I would definitely have 1 bladed weapon, a semi-auto pistol (.40 glock or sig perhaps), and a long range rifle and a truck somewhat like this:
