alright so i have a rb25det motor swap and i have been have been working out alot of the kinks and right when i think ive got it running good at about 11 pounds of boost running strong i decided to just play with the boost controller bumping it up a little but instead for some reason the boost went down i spent many days trying to get it back to running the strong 11 pounds but now its like its having all the same problems which was before caused by a bad fuel pump that i upgraded to a 255 walbro, bad timing, and lack of grounds on the motor. now i thought it was just a bad boost controller but im not so sure now when i pull the throttle cable just a little i hear a clicking noise near the left side of the motor near the injectors? also when i started my car up a couple days ago it sounded really rough almost like there was no oil i immediately turned it off and checked the oil level and it was just fine? hasnt done it sense also now when the car goes under boost it will totally cut out and then immediately go again almost like im going full throttle then releasing and then full throttle again but much harsher at first we thought the boost controller was letting to much boost so it was cutting out but we lowered down the boost to 5 pounds and it will still do it sometimes? i am at a loss of what the problem could be i check all my piping for leaks by spraying a carburator cleaner around all the possible areas it could leak one at a time to see if motor would hesitate if it pulled in some of the cleaner but nothing i dont know what it could be hopfully tomorrow or the next day i will be able to borrow my friends boost controller to see if thats the problem but any other advice would be greatly appreciated all these problems like i said came after i changed the boost settings on the controller no more then two clicks which should only be one pound of boost

on a another note my car runs very hott at 210 but doesnt seem to change when i beat on it or baby the hell out of it i have a koyo radiator 2 ten inch fans that i bought from tophatperformance one pusher one puller they said would be fine with a z32tt thermostat stock radiator cap i have flushed the cooling system 2 times and have used water wetter along with 5050 radiator fluid the only thing i can think of is the fans r not big enough? i do find alot of rust collecting in the overflow any help on this matter as well would be great i have done alot of research on both matters but cant seem to find the problem any help would be great

For the 9 or so years that I have been reading posts on forums, this is the new record holder for longest run-on sentence. I mean seriously, did you text this post in from your phone or something?!

-Check the pressure lines to the EBC too.

-What are the plugs gapped at?

-The loud ticking you heard upon startup is probably just your lifters don't worry about it. It goes away after a few seconds right?

-Does the click on the left side of the motor cause anything to happen to the idle or engine tone? It isn't the injector harness grounding out somewhere is it?

-The coolant is rusty because your engine is about 15 years old and has probably sat in a junkyard for the previous 5 years. It takes a while for the rusty crap to come out of the block. My coolant is still turning a little rusty even after I rebuilt the motor.

what can i say i just rock with sentences hahaha

but yeah i have checked the lines leading to the ebc

i think i might have a boost leak but with all my searching and tightning of every clamp! none seem to be leaking but while i was driving yesterday it sounded like i was boosting but my boost still showed a negative vacume and i felt no boost so im sure there has to be a leak of some kind?

the clicking noise does not affect the tone. how could i check to see if the injector harness is grounding out

If your sprayed your intercooler piping etc that wouldnt really affect ur rpms. I think you gotta spray your vacum lines for that trick to work.

if you were spraying Carb cleaner on areas of possible vaccume/boost leaks, it would actually raise the idle due to the combustible fluid that it contains.

Yea i know but I thought he meant he sprayed like the pipes going into the intercooler and coming out. Isn't that always pressurized? It wouldn't be sucking air in through there though.

No boost = No go, are you sure the turbo is ok?

The 25 seem to have timing and fuel issues when they are pushed past 10 psi. Ive found tuning and turning the VTC off both took out the cut out and made MORE power.

We made 363 whp on 16 psi

Did you do your swap? If so, I have a RB25 sitting in my garage. Maybe you could help with some pointers.
