So... came back from my lil vacation in San Diego back to hot a$$ Phoenix and the CA all of a sudden had some go. I thought it was just me driving the wife's Ka the whole weekend but after a bit of a test launch i noticed my boost jumped above 10 psi so i took it home and checked the vacumme line and that was the culprit...

fix it with new vacumme line and off i go to work...ablock away from work i test the new vac line to see if that fixed it and still jumped to 12-14 psi(letting off as soon as i noticed this keep in mind) anywho line is fine and the only thing i could think of is maybe the wastegate is stuck shut. is this common?

my setup is stock ca t25 with stock sr elbow so nothing special really just curious could i have a bad wastegate or use a diff vac source or turbo is just old??? any idea guys thanx

Use on those air chucks for blowing dust off of crap and pressurize the line. If the waste gate opens then its not sticking.

It's quite possible the wastegate is failing. They don't last forever, especially being so close to the exhaust.

Yeah and one other thing i noticed about the shaft also is that it's bent a bit, from what I've heard that's on old cheap trick to get more boost out of the wastegate without having to upgrade to one of those hks adjustable ones???

Either way thanks for the input guys
